I doubt this would happen but what do we think the OCC would do if they just don't get any Spotify data for the week?

  • I've been recording Sinitta's performance on British and Maltese Spotify top 50 charts for 26 years and I'm getting increasingly worried about how long this period of missing data in my spreadsheet is

  • Isn't is most likely that simply nobody has listened to anything on Spotify the past few days? Like they can't exactly publish a daily chart when every song has 0 streams.

  • Then my message to Spotify is... take your time with resolving the issues, there's really no rush! ❤️

Doubt it. His highest song on first look is Daisies at 11

Also if spotify data is missing it wouldn't be on the first look chart 😅

If they know what a song does on other platforms and the % of the market those platforms make up they could then work out an estimate for what spotify streams are missing. Although that would miss the nuance of certain genres of music doing better on some platforms than others (for example dance music does better on Apple usually).

There was that one week in 2015 when they just...didn't get all the data. Coincided with some lucky breaks on the UK and NZ charts as a result. (Though the UK one was also when they changed the dates and had a shorter week anyway, so it was strange in its own right)

Usually when the update is slow the overall numbers still update but they haven’t either so maybe these streams will be lost into the abyss

We've had the occasional day without an update before and it usually catches up and comes through before the following day's update. This is unusual in that it's lasted even longer but there's no reason to think it won't catch up again here when they finally sort themselves out.

wow still stuck on Sept 4!

It's probably due to the problem happening during the weekend. Hope it will be solved soon. Would be weird if none of the new album releases (such as Bieber) ever gets to know their first day figures.

What happened back in the 90s if the shops couldn’t scan the sales? (It’s bound to have happened)?

Gaga #24 on Apple, Calvin down to #75

on Amazon, the KPop songs are 1,2,4,5,6,7+10, so 6 out of 7 songs in the top 7 and the only one in the middle is Ordinary which is on ACR

so virtually they have the entire top 6, plus there are so many versions of Golden... the Guetta remix at 24, the French version at #51,

a couple more version no clue what they are in the low top 100...

Olivia is #8, Gaga appears to be dropping now down to #25, Tears #39

Calvin-Ocean seems to have disappeared, was top 20 on Saturday

Never thought I’d find myself so frustrated at there not being a Spotify update for 2 days but here we are 🤣, Monday morning and still no clue how fridays new releases have done on Spotify

Golden versions I can think off, original, guetta, French, Spanish, singalong, instrumental, acappella, probably more

So if we go the whole week without any Spotify numbers, will sales be down across the board this week? (And then next week every song will likely increase in sales loads and cause mass ACR resets?) cheeseblock

I reckon if one outlet doesn't report, they leave it out, they don't estimate

sure there are physical stores that have issues sometimes and can't report and its not like they estimate their sales, they just don't use them that week

must happen all the time with physical shops

i mean if a little indie music store has no internet on Thu evening and cannot report, it's not like the occ is gonna do machine learning, estimation etc

I think there’s a big difference between a little indie music store and Spotify. It would have to be estimated, there’s no way they would leave it out lol

Yeah I was gonna say, Spotify makes up such a large sum, incomparable to one little record store, I’d assume they have some protocol and measures to estimate
