Posted October 3Oct 3 Having heard the album now, it's clear it's not quite the pop masterpiece that we might have expected of a Max Martin collab. Even the reviews seem a little underwhelming. But will that stop it selling by the bucketloads? Undoubtedly not, but will it match TTPD's opening sales? (which, for reference, opened with 270k)(let's not make this a discussion of how good/bad of an album it is, let's just discuss sales)I've set the poll to automatically close on Monday at 1pm as we should have some initial sales figures on Monday afternoon. October 3Oct 3 Going for 270k, it's almost impossible to know but the quality won't stop her fanbase getting it and that has only continued to grow, especially after the Eras Tour.
October 3Oct 3 Very easily over 200k!Whoops options changed since posting, think she'll do around 270k like TTPD. Biggest artist in the world right now Edited October 3Oct 3 by gasman449
October 3Oct 3 I find this so hard to predict because I’m sure TTPD had loads of signed copies but the vinyl limited releases sold so fast as did the bracelet CD’s so I’m guessing 260k?
October 3Oct 3 Going to be bold and say 302k!Her last album opened with 270k and I've never seen anything quite like the pre-order strategy she had for this with countdowns for different variants. The reaction has been quite mixed but her hype still feels sky high, especially with the engagement news. Plus she's doing a lot of U.K. promo right now like radio chats, Graham Norton and has an accompanying movie out in the cinema. So I feel like reaching for the stars.
October 3Oct 3 Swifties are at their 10th listen as we speak, if they can keep that very brave pace for the whole week, anything is possible. I predict 248k because the general public will stop caring on Tuesday.
October 3Oct 3 Well there's no way it'll open with less than 150k so those first few options aren't really needed Voted 250k+ but could be any number really - the first 300k+ since 'Divide' in 2017 is possible I think!

October 3Oct 3 Midnights did 204k, TTPD did 270k, even 1989TV re-record yes a rerecord did 184k plus the standard version is 2.49 on iTunes 🤣🤣 so I can see her doing more than TTPD

October 3Oct 3 Whilst the album is not very good, her crazy fans will buy every vinyl variant available so it will be very high.
October 3Oct 3 This having her highest ever first week would sort of make sense but would also feel a bit wrong.I feel like Tortured Poets might hold the crown in terms of week one sales here in the UK but I can see this on around 230/240K by week end! Edited October 3Oct 3 by Jordanlee1402

I had it as £3.99 in my head but could easily be wrong!

October 3Oct 3 Its her highest pre order yet so id say similar numbers to her last, maybe a little higher.
October 3Oct 3 i have a feeling itll fall just a bit short of ttpd. still expecting around the 250k mark but i can't really see her outselling that considering the ttpd alt vinyls and cds were available on her store for a lot longer, all these alt vinyls were 'limited runs' and haven't gone back up on to her store!
October 3Oct 3 I haven't listened to it and I intent not to just like her last 4-5 albums lol, but it amazes me how big she's become. So I think this easily will get close to 500k!!!EDIT:And the reasons why is because this album has only 12 songs apparently, (compare to her last one which was what double album or something?!!!) and the streams will just be so much easier to achieve record breaking numbers etc. etc..
