Anyone know what the record is for the biggest second week drop for albums in terms of percentage? Is Taylor in danger of breaking that record at all?

Taylor herself? 'Lover (Live From Paris)' logged no sales after falling from #1, although strictly speaking it wasn't a second week fall.

Robbie Williams had a 95.75% drop from #1 with 'Better Man'.

Those physical sales for Taylor really fell off a cliff - until the next variants come available which should be pretty soon.

Its actually romantic your hateridge 🤣

In this sales climate it would be impossible for Taylor to do anything less than a 75% drop I’d say, it’s impressive the sales but of course the dramatic drop the next week is inevitable! It’ll just depend on where it stabilises in the coming weeks!

Does anyone know what the biggest second week sales of the year for an album is out of curiosity

If you start off that high you're bound to have a big drop in percentage. That said her sales will probably be higher then most.

Sabrina Carpenter's 'Man's Best Friend' sold 32,591 in its second week.

Had a feeling it might be, so Taylor should easily take that crown too

Almost all #1 albums have massive drops in their second week these days regardless of what point they start from. Slightly less pronounced for albums that do primarily well on streaming but even then streaming numbers usually drop a lot in the first couple of weeks before stabilising.

Hoping "The Chain" can be reset and become a hit for the first time!

Sadly I feel like if they were gonna do this they would of by now (although we know they are picking and choosing who they bend the rules for 😅)

Well, maybe Robbie's mgmt could not shifted the release date of BRITPOP album.

Maybe 50/55k could be enough to beat Taylor on 2nd week...

Yeah Richard Ashcrof

With it being pushed back all the way to February, there must have been other factors at play.

He does this with anybody who isn't Gaga, it's a consistent theme.

It’s the dry comment with no remorse that makes me lol

probably Taylor herself? Wasnt her Live vinyl like 1->out with 0 sales in 2nd week?

That's not really fair to compare to anything else tbf lol.

Jay does have an excellent thread compiling the stats for the year of second week album sales drops - Robbie's drop is not even the biggest one of the year, The K's had a slightly bigger drop of 95.9% (I assume that is the all-time record excluding Taylor, but just a waiting game until the next effectively fanbase-only indie album that breaks it again).
