  • Also can I take this opportunity to plug this week's quiz (Song Pictionary), which I'm running over in the Lounge. In case you haven't seen it, you can access it here: https://www.buzzjack.com/forums/

Glad I wasn't alone with misinterpreting that question lol

Now I wonder if I would've got Val Doonican if I'd read it properly and worked backwards haha

My sincerest apologies if the wording of this question threw you off: I was looking for the song that beat Westlife rather than the Westlife song that was beaten to the top. As a compromise I've given out points to anyone who gave "What Makes A Man" as an answer. Told you I didn't have this play-tested!

That's actually very generous of you, thank you! I just couldn't work out how Val Doonican fitted with What Makes A Man and didn't even think there might be an alternative way to think about the question! In hindsight I don't think it's that unreasonably worded actually!

Ironically, I remember Brian McFadden saying he hated the Seasons In The Sun video because the label made them dress in turtlenecks to sell to an older audience, and he felt like they looked like a band of Val Doonicans!

Quite happy that I managed to get two in full that I can be confident on as they make sense as a smash, and as answers 🤣 There might be a third that I luck out on as I just guessed a song that smashed well with the act that I recognised.

Just catching up and when I said this in the other thread, "Flo RiDavid Guetta" was one of the two that I was confident on 😂 It worked as a smash and I just assumed it was another dance act. Can't believe some people got Ida Corr but didn't recognise Eurovision legend Flo Rida 😭

But omg, Emma Buntonight tonight was a complete fluke (I don't even think this is the one I considered I might 'luck out on', that's still to come 😁), I obviously knew Emma and then just came up with something that could smash with her surname and I'd recently been reminded of the hit by Hot Chelle Rae.

Oh you BITCH! That's it I am throwing a HISSY FIT! 😤😤😤😤

Your answer to the last question did make me chuckle lol

Really wish I’d had chance to enter this (although I find timed quizzes almost unbearably stressful). I’d have got most of them so far but I definitely wouldn’t have recognised The Doors and not sure I’d have managed to work back from Orson, plus I’d have also been thrown by Westlife / Bob.

I've just realised you gave us a point... I'll calm down now after throwing a tantrum in the supermarket! 😶😂

jim loses his streak of 5 point answers, leaving only gooddelta with a perfect score so far. Can he keep up the streak and win the whole quiz?

Wow Apache was never a hit here? That's the one I used to hear in clubs EVERY night back in the 2010s.

Definitely should have been a hit here, love their take on the song!

Yeah I knew it wasn't Zara, but couldn't think of a female artist whose surname ended in "ra" or "rapp" at the time - worked it out 3 days too late, and it seems obvious now!

Good luck Rich in the 100% quest!

I don't really know who Renee Rapp is and was pretty confident about Goldfrapp as the only reasonable answer, so that's disappointing!

A lot of you were in the right mindset for this one, with a lot of the songs being given as answer being hits around Elton's charity single/Will Young's debut. "Candle In The Wind 97" sold 1.6 million on week 2 (its full week on sale) while Dario G's "Sunchyme" sold 86k at number 2 that week.

If you didn't know who Renee Rapp was then Goldfrapp is actually a very reasonable answer!

Ah so it was Sunchyme, that was my other option. Was Spinning The Wheel also a number 2 behind Candle In The Wind or have I made that up?
