I imagine there's a fair chance it'll be confirmed at least one more time anyway.The 10 veto points might be fair, but think of this scenario differently: if 4 people (including me) confirm a song and I get to send it, then if I'm lucky enough and we're all in the same semi, the chances of me qualifying with a (close to) 36-point headstart are pretty great. Not to mention that my entry's likely to get these countries' 18s in the final too: getting 3 18s already puts me in the top 10% (-ish, just wrote a number) - and the contest haven't even started.
October 25, 2025Oct 25 Also agreed with Frank, despite me being one of the people to try and confirm it. If you give a song a probable 50+ point headstart when it inevitably gets to the final then that is pretty unfair on everyone else. I would feel the same if I'd got to it first as I would rather not send a song that is known to loads of people already.Tbh though I had no idea the song/artist was in any way known but I guess we all found it on the same Spotify playlist oops (not NMF, at least that's not where I heard it). They've barely been mentioned on Buzzjack from a quick search and only one person has ever charted them from what I can see - uhsting obvs.

October 25, 2025Oct 25 I have heard of the artist in question but only because they've been sent to the PopJustice contest several times before. Don't think I liked any of those songs oop ~(perhaps the threshold for the number of confirmations that equate to a veto by the letter of the framework should be changed - the whole framework is really years overdue a rewrite to be honest - but the rules are not so rigid that we would let a song that should quite clearly be a veto for the reasons stated slide anyway, I think there's been maybe 1 song ever before that was allowed through after being confirmed 4 times)

October 25, 2025Oct 25 Just a quick PSA that an artist being entered 4 times in the last 30 contests is actually an auto-veto criterion. Someone got thrown out for this last month and someone else has now tried the same artist again this time. You can try them again in BJSC 182 xx(I have sent a PM to the person in question)
