Radio 1 Playlist (31/10/25): Madeline's singing a love song whilst doing a raindance

They have played a censored version of Pussy Palace a couple of times, but that wasn't sent to radio as the single. The spoken parts don't make Madeline any less worthy of being on the radio!

That’s good to know, I’ve not heard it on the radio yet!

  • I do enjoy your persistence to make now relevant in every scenario 😅

  • Hah I thought Alessi Rose was a made-up singer when she was mentioned on EastEnders last week 😃

  • I guess Lily's record label have nominated 'Madeline' as the single then rather than R1 deciding which one is the least sweary?!

How did the censored version go?! Just silencing of 'Pussy' I assume? The Duane Reade bag verse probably didn't make the cut 😆

Gutted Pussy Palace isn't the single! ☹️

Just pretend it is anyway its the one still doing best everywhere 🤣

I'd rank Ruminating and Madeline above Pussy Palace! So happy at the choice and the talking parts are superbly done and would make such a statement on the radio! Can't think of many other songs that use a similar structure and spoken conversational "interlude" let alone ones pushed as singles like this!

Yeah every instance of "pussy" is silenced of course, a couple of lines in verse 2 are more or less silent too lol

Anyone know the DJs' tracks of the week for this week?

Also, I'm away rn and flying back to the UK on Friday morning - it's an 8 hour flight which takes off at 5.40am UK time, so I don't think the playlist will be available on the website that early. If anyone fancies posting the playlist once it's up feel free, otherwise I'll do so on Friday evening.

Dean McCullough: Sammy Virji, Flowdan and Spice - Match My Mood

Greg James: Florence and the Machine - Sympathy Magic

Rickie, Melvin and Charlier: Amber Mark and Anderson Paak - Don’t Remind Me

Matt and Mollie: Madison Beer - Bittersweet

Katie and Jamie: Sabrina Carpenter - When Did You Get Hot?

And I will try and post the playlist Friday morning if I get chance, no guarantee though

I'm liking Lily (I would have chosen any one of 'Pussy Palace' , 'Nonmonogamummy' , or '4chan Stan' over that, but I can see why this is getting the push!) and Alessi* out of the newbies this week!

Florence and Turnstile sound like they could have scope to grow...

* Pretty apt that 'Tears' has fallen off the playlist (leaving the playlist Sabrina-less), as 'First Original Thought' sounds like it could have easily been plucked from "Man's Best Friend"... I'm bopping along to it, but it's literally just a CTRL-C/CTRL-V of a Sabrina Carpenter song! 😂

Ugh, does that mean it's the next single?

I was hoping for 'House Tour'
