This sombr track must be a new entry as I don’t think they’ve played it before.

Think we can put the "one reset max per artist" thing to bed now.

Antihero maybe is the only one better 🤭

Ideally it would be Actually Romantic but id take it

’Ruin The Friendship’ but i don’t hate ‘Actually Romantic’ like most, it’s very silly and actually has some good moments, tho objectively it is a bad song ofc

Funfact: Raye is only the seventh British woman (or women led group) to have multiple UK number ones in the streaming era (July 2014 onwards), chronologically following:

• Cheryl (‘Crazy Stupid Love’, ‘I Don’t Care’)

• Jess Glynn (‘Rather Me’, ‘My Love’, ‘Hold My Hand’, ‘Don’t Be So Hard on Yourself’, ‘These Days’, ‘I’ll Be There’

• Little Mix (‘Black Magic’, ‘Shout Out to My Ex’, ‘Sweet Melody’)

• Dua Lipa (‘New Rules’, ‘One Kiss’, ‘Cold Heart’, ‘Dance the Night’)

• Ellie Goulding (‘Love Me Like You Do’, ‘River’, ‘Miracle’)

• Adele (‘Hello’, ‘Easy on Me’)

• Raye (‘Escapism’, ‘Where Is My Husband?’)

The Clash have got reset but just missed the top 40.

Looks like 'I Thought I Saw Your Face Today' and 'Boys Don't Cry' join 'Upside Down' in being snubbed of one however

Very pleased Turn the lights off was in top 40. But cannot understand why no Diana Ross, Cure or She & Him resets. Makes no sense.

Olivia Dean's music is what I'd best describe as "digital soul" - by that I mean, soul music that is not really warm, but does try to sound soulful and warm despite it being recorded on and sounding very digital. I should know because I'm doing music production and sound techniques in college.

Well its more modern sounding than what Stock Aitken Waterman and Take That - Pray/Everything Changes did which was recreate 60s/early 70 soul electronically but with now dated sounding synth horns/ strings.

Tyla is the queen of the yearturn hits.

2023/24 Water
2024/25 Push 2 Start
2025/26 Chanel

She's taking over for Jax Jones, who was the king of them last decade.

2016/17 You Don't Know Me

2017/18 Breathe

2018/19 Play

2019/20 This Is Real

All of these peaked in January IIRC!

Does anyone know why Zara wasn’t credited for the Stateside remix? Is there a rule for that? They even played the remix on the radio during the chart show.

I’ve followed her musical journey ever since this but still so odd to think in retrospect that Raye had a smash hit 9 years ago. Like this was peaking at the same time as Little Mix’s touch and Shape of You.

The label has to specifically request a remixed artist be credited and most just don’t see the point.

I’m not even sure the last time it happened? I think maybe Kendrick Lamar on Bad Blood a full decade ago?

Billy Ray Cyrus and Selena Gomez notably never credited for Old Town Road and Calm Down despite their versions being the most consumed during the entire chart runs.

Especially She & Him, that is a song that 11 people knew existed four weeks ago.

But wasn’t Billie credited for Guess?

Yes - the label must have requested that change. See also Rein Me In charting at the moment. Given the album version will have been tracking sales for a while, adding the featured artist to the credit has to come at the request of the label.

It's still Christmas technically until 5th January, it's not that deep x

It'll take Lord Hadji a long time to get over this one.

Sorry, I put my own commentary in the wrong place.

2026 ruined already like a non chart-topping George Michael or Queen hit opening a Now Yearbook!

Don’t tell me to get a grip. Yeah there’s no room for them to play all 40 songs but there’s still room for them to play a Christmas song in JANUARY. All Christmas songs should’ve been SKIPPED

He already did.

Sorry 'bout it!

I take it not getting wound up over the least consequential things ever wasn't in your New Year's Resolutions.

At this point I feel he's only happy when he's moaning about something 😅

Three certainties in life: death, income tax and Hadji moaning about extraordinarily trivial things nobody else gives Juan Sheet about.

Happy New Year!

Queen have always opened compilations even before George’s label became obsessed with it. When George was alive, he didn’t give a shit where he was placed on a compilation but since he died, his label became obsessed with track 1
