It really surprises me how long some songs stay on SCR after getting reset honestly.

If you assume a song like Mr. Brightside is stable in streams and randomly fluctuating slightly each week, it would work out as a 50% chance of a decline each week, a 25% chance of 2 consecutive declines each week and a 12.5% chance of 3 consecutive declines each week.

So if it did get reset, unless it got super lucky with it's random fluctuations, I think you'd expect it to be back on ACR after around 7-9 weeks?

Note totals for some of the Christmas / old songs are approximate, but should still be within 100k. Full chart for Week 1: 1 Olivia Dean Man I Need 52,000 1,150,000 2 Huntr/x, Ejae, Audrey Nuna, Rei

I know it’s very early days, but it’s weird that the biggest song of the year so far hasn’t yet spent a week in the top five in 2026! One of the vagaries of ACR I suppose. I remember it was considere

The thing for songs that have been around for so long is that if they decrease one week, they then have more chance of increasing the next week to get back to where they were the week before.

But you’d hope that the reset is the result of a strong increase that will eventually be reversed and will have three consecutive declines to get back to the level it previously was.

But of course, this doesn’t always happen, such as ‘Landslide’.

I think the problem is that you can decline a long way without having three consecutive declines - all it takes is the market to bounce every three weeks or so. Plus there’s the double lock that a decline by less than the market counts as an increase while an increase by less than the market is also an increase. I’ve long said they should find an alternative to requiring consecutive declines.

I’ve estimated another rolling 12 month chart, this time to the end of Q1 2026. Thanks as always to gasman and Julian for your help and data.

Any corrections to errors, especially at the lower end, are welcome.

I stopped at a top 30 as beyond that the totals were closely packed around the 6-700,000s mark and there were a few older songs whose trickle sales during 2026 I was unsure of. If anyone has the time and inclination to expand to an accurate top 40, I’d be very grateful 😊

Thought that Sean Paul song was likely to enter soon, had been pulling strong numbers on Spotify for a while.

Have to assume Sweater Weather is still close as that is currently the highest placed song on the Spotify YTD which is not here. I see that it has also recently become the third most streamed song of all time on the platform which is insane.

Interesting to see several Olivia Dean songs falling on the year to date chart. Although some of her songs are still on the up, it seems that she may have finally peaked (for the time being).

Some of the album cuts have fallen away a lot - “Let Alone The One You Love”, “I’ve Seen It” and “Lady Lady” especially. Though of course it’s astonishing that she had so many tracks so high for so long.

The album has been a huge constant presence for 7 months its been phenomenal really, the only person as consistent in recent years is really Sabrina Carpenter, you could argue Taylor in 2023/24 but they were definitely propt up by the eras tour and new releases 🤣

This has been a huge 12 months for Olivia in general. She's currently the biggest name in music right now. It's not surprising to see so many of her songs charting in the EOY chart so far.

Mr. Brightside celebrates its 500th week in the charts today.

It’s also been in the Top 50 for last five consecutive weeks, amazingly this looks like the first time Mr. Brightside has done this.
