I wonder if EsDeeKid might be moving onto pushing a different song to radio soon? But still odd to pull 'Century' so soon even if so.

I believe it happened to one of Doja Cat's own songs as well, poor hen.

Maybe 4 Raws remix?

My rule of thumb is that Radio 1 will be backing the big artists and won't actively snub singles from them. Radio 2 work similarly - they don't playlist non-singles away from "tracks from album x". C

Hopefully 4 Raws remix!

They’ve played Century 3 times today so they obviously don’t have an issue with EsDeeKid himself

'Espresso' actually entered on the B-list so since even before that. In fact she's only ever spent two weeks on the C-list before now.

Then 'Espresso' spent one week on the B-list before progressing to the A-list, and every single playlisted week she's had since then has been on the A-list! A very impressive achievement!

Nonsense C-B-B-B-B-B

Feather C-B-B-B-B-B-A-A-A-A-A-A

Espresso B-A-A-A-A-A-A-A

Please Please Please A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A

Radio 1's Live Lounge A

Tracks From 'Short n' Sweet' A

Taste A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A

Bed Chem A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A

Busy Woman A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A

Manchild A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A

Tracks From 'Man's Best Friend' A

Tears A-A-A-A-A-A-A

Even Taylor hasn't managed that level of A-list occupancy - 4 of her last 6 singles started out on the C-list!

I wouldn’t have considered her a big enough name at that point to have an insta B add!

I’d imagine Espresso was racing up the chart when the added it to the B List.

Does this make Such A Funny Way a single then? Cos if so, I do like it a lot but would feel disappointed to see it picked over giving House Tour, Nobody’s Son or When Did You Get Hot? a proper go.

I know my opinion is of no consequence at all but I have come to the conclusion that Geese are bloody awful.

Maybe it's his voice, I don't know but I'm thinking they may be one of the worst "indie" bands daytime Radio 1 have ever got behind.

I find them completely unlistenable.

It's depressing to think about the older guitar bands they binned off (Vaccines, Two Door Cinema Club, Muse etc) to make way for stuff like this!

On the plus side, generally happy with the adds this week but wondering how on earth Mumford still get on.

Surely they should be Radio 2-only by now!

Yeah it happened to ‘MASC’ in 2024. The most recent example was Lorde’s ‘Shapeshifter’.

‘Espresso’ was insta added to the B-list, which I was quite surprised about as the time. Shows what I know…

Any chance they might re-add Zara’s Midnight Sun? I think it only had a very short run of about 3 weeks on the C List previously. It’s moving up the official chart fast now though and has finally been added to a lot of big Spotify playlists today including Hot Hits UK.

Can anyone think of any other similar examples of songs finally taking off not too long after their first run on the playlist and being re-added?

Capital have re-added it but for R1 to playlist it the label might have to re-push it as a single.

I’d imagine R1 would give it more recurrent plays instead of playlisting it unless it only peaked low and wasn’t A Listed.

For example Djo has been getting the B List treatment since before Xmas

When Did You Get Hot? is a single but radio 1 skipped playlisting it or it just wasn’t sent to them, the other two have capital / capital buzz backing them so it’s not worst case scenario

I think it's safe to assume R1 would not pass on playlisting an official Sabrina single (unless they suddenly developed good taste).

That said I do like 'Such A Funny Way' so thank you label for pushing that xx

yea i’m just gonna guess it wasn’t sent to them as an “official single” therefore warranting the skip cos we know for a fact it’s a single. Unlike ‘Juno’, WDYGH? was pushed globally, looks like their going for ‘House Tour’ too now warranted by the KISS add

I'm confused at why they haven't playlisted When Did You Get Hot, they had it as a track of the weekend the week it went to ACR I believe? I would guess the label pulled it last second and just didn't offer a replacement as there was no point in pushing it. My station (which clones its playlist from Radio 1 for the most part) has it on our A list

Is there any conclusive confirmation it is/was? I followed it pretty closely to see what happened next and never saw any, the only piece of evidence I can find is that it was serviced to radio in New Zealand.

Radio 1 would have definitely playlisted it if it was a single here at least, they wouldn't have just skipped it.

maybe not here, but we know WDYGH? was sent to american radio (after album) which could indicate global release, tho the UK was on it earlier so i’m not 100% sure. My only guess is cos it was played a lot in the album week her team thought they didn’t have to re-send it since they already got approval to play it? it’s definitely a weird case of a song being skipped

Yeah I think it's just a case of When Did You Get Hot? being pushed in other countries but skipped here for some reason, perhaps due to the timing of it going to ACR? thinking

maybe, but capital where quick on it and rinsed it so i highly doubt it wasn’t sent to them. It’s such a weird case. It’s easy to understand why radio 1 would skip on ‘Juno’ but this one is so weird. Especially cos the BBC is the only one now adding ‘Such A Funny Way’ while Global and Kiss have added ‘House Tour’ so it’s just super weird… and then there’s capital buzz with ‘Nobody's Son’
