Oh wow that 2016 playlist makes me feel old too! Plenty of bops and bangers on there. I'd forgotten they'd playlisted Danny L Harle's 'Broken Flowers', shame they don't playlist his current stuff.

Omg 'Gone Missing' should have been a hit way better than the other Shift K3y hits.

DJ Fresh/High Contrast/Dizzee - When Love Begins was fun too as a 90s rave inspired track.

Grace and G-Eazy You Dont Own Me was a very good cover, I think it inspired Dove Cameron - Boyfriend too.

I seem to recall it coming out before Sorry, surely it didn't stall on the C-list?

They remained separated like that since the start of December. I vaguely recall that Love Yourself's addition to the C List was because it went to #1 so they felt obliged to add it. It just took off from there climbing to the A List in Feb '16 whilst Sorry fizzled out.

Feels like Danny L Harle is very much a current artist!

No, 'Love Yourself' was released 3 weeks after 'Sorry'. It was C-listed for 7 weeks before being moved up, eventually also spending 5 weeks on the A-list.

that could perhaps change if the rumours are true that the album has a secret Dua Lipa guest feature (though I doubt the song will be commercial enough to be a proper hit)

Kinda shows they do follow when songs are sent to radio etc.

On Danny L Harle, ‘Crystallise My Tears’ was Hottest Record in November so hopefully there is some playlist support for the album coming up.

Though saying that, Gorillaz have had a few Hottest Records the past year and I don’t think any were playlisted.
