I always find the pop hardest to predict, but sure you'll do well enough, although I wouldn't expect it to win, which is why I left Elëdan out too (but can see them hoovering up lots of high scores and maybe finishing 10th-15th).

To be fair, my comment was in jest! I haven't actually listened to the semi 2 songs yet, so I have no idea what could be a contender there!

I always hope to do well, but when I saw that half my favourite songs in my semi were predicted to DNQ, so being surefire qualifiers to my ears, I realised that I have zero clue what makes a BJSC hit 🤣

I'm just happy to be in the final. I was pretty good at DNQing back in the day! (that's not an invitation for anyone to discard me from their votes - before posting this, I'm sure 'Poco Poco' was going to get a clean sweep of 18pts, and I'm happy for that to remain the case! 😝)

I’ll be interested to see whether Faouzia does manage to do that well. I really like the track (and really like the album also) and personally think it’s much stronger than her older material, but when I asked how it went I heard that it got largely the opposite thoughts in the listen through - which perhaps shouldn’t be too surprising as my taste in pop is definitely different to most of the more passionate pop music fans on the site.

I feel like it may appeal more to alt fans than her previous entries did, but there’s also a lot of strong alt and electronic tracks that I’d expect those people to like more. My gut is that it may end up being one of those songs that most people like, but not many people aside from myself really like… - but we shall see how it pans out!

For me, I’d be delighted to see Bøtanikkä do well from those I’ve seen mentioned, it seems like a really distinctive entry. And, although well known, the Banks and First Aid Kit tracks are pretty great too. I naturally also like a lot of the more alt electronic stuff too but I’m not sure I can see any of them getting enough support to win. Need to familiarise myself more with a lot of SF1 though
