THIS MUSIC MAY CONTAIN HOPE THAT... HER NEXT ALBUM IS BETTER.

Yeah, this album is really not for me. I only really liked the singles plus 'I Know You're Hurting'. I appreciate the artistry and stuff but I want some good songs, some memorable hooks, some nice melodies. I had to skip after a minute of 'I Hate The Way I Look Today', I just couldn't bear to listen to any more of it lol, what a terrible song. And let's not even talk about 'Fin' - it's a bit indulgent to list out your album thank yous in a song, that's what CD booklets are for love.

I'm intrigued to find out how this is gonna do and what kind of longevity it gets.

As someone who isn’t really a “fan” and takes her on a song by song basis, I can’t say this album has won me over (despite liking the singles more than I did for her first album) but I do appreciate what she was/is going for.

‘Life Boat.’ though… incredible.

I really like ‘Joy.’ too.

‘Click Clack Symphony.’, ‘Nightingale Lane.’, Life Boat.’ & ‘Joy.’ are my firm favourites.

What an album!! The duo of I Know You’re Hurting and Life Boat are outstanding! 100% my album of the year for me though!

Really like Joy and Beware… the South London Lover Boy of the new tracks too! Not convinced about I Hate The Way I Look Today but that’s not bad on an album of so many tracks

I love this and I'm so relieved because I wasn't sure I would given she's clearly going for the "kitchen sink" approach, with lots of styles and ideas all thrown together (and some mixed reviews as a result.) I really enjoy 'I Know You're Hurting' and 'Beware The South London Lover Boy' in particular; no real skips for me after a couple of listens. It won't be for everyone but I love it and hope it's big for her.

I’ve only flicked through it so far but it sounded intriguing, I felt like I was hearing quite a lot of potentially upbeat moments which is great. Looking forward to listening properly tomorrow

Oh yeah here’s how the album is currently fairing on Apple Music!

#5 (+1) WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!

#8 (+3) Click Clack Symphony. new peak

#41 (+51) I Will Overcome.

#45 (+59) Beware.. The South London Lover Boy.

#46 (+95) I Know You’re Hurting.

#55 (+92) The WhatsApp Shakespeare.

#61 (+57) Intro: Girl Under The Grey Cloud

#75 (+39) Nightingale Lane.

#116 (NE) Life Boat.

#137 (NE) Winter Woman.

#192 (NE) Goodbye Henry.

#199 (NE) Joy.

There should be another update soon

This is a much better album for me than ‘21st Century Blues’. I love how self assured it is, in going exactly where Raye wants it to, and you never know what’s coming.

The “too much” criticisms, I understand to some extent, but I feel like at this stage she’s proved herself and had earned the right to go balls to the wall confident like this.

‘Winter Woman’ needs to be a single!

The album is quite good! Love how theatrical/cinematic it is, the production is top notch!

Highlights so far:

"Winter Woman" (Agree with it needing to be a single!!)

"Click Clack Symphony"

"I Know You're Hurting"

"Lifeboat." (perfect summer single)

"Nightingale Lane"

"Skin and Bones"

"WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!"

"Joy."

"Happier Times Ahead."

Hoping they'll push a couple more singles. Ideally "Lifeboat." as it would be the perfect follow up to "Click Clack Symphony" with summer fast approaching *_*

Been playing this all day practically, Its growing fast on me, some great stand out tracks... Winter Woman, Click Clack probably the two stand out tracks, but I can't really fault the whole album. Top 3 new singles on Sunday D with Click Clack at #1

It's stressing me out that you include the dot in some of the song titles but not all of them. x

RAYE is currently on TikTok live doing an album listening party - in this she confirmed she has begun work on her third album & already has the title for it!

I’ve had this on repeat all day, so dropping my thoughts.

Intro. - sets the scene so perfectly. I love how she did another intro to lay out the vibe the way m21cb opened with the jazz club vibe intro.

I Will Overcome. - so insane. What a way to open! Phenomenal vocals as always.

Beware.. The South London Lover Boy. - just as fun as it was live, can see this being a smash. Her charisma comes through so well

The WhatsApp Shakespeare. - my most related currently, so additive. I am obsessed with that flute or clarinet during the verses, I love love love

Winter woman. - a smashhhhh. So f***ing good.

Click Clack Symphony. - such a moment. Masterpiece.

I Know Your Hurting. - I am not exaggerating this song is the most special song to ever exist. I’ve struggled with mental health and it literally sums up me so perfectly. I adore the key change for that hopeful vibe. Truly stunning.

Life Boat. - like Black Mascara. ‘s younger more positive sister. I adore the message and it’s so brilliant.

I Hate The Way I Look Today. - I relate to the message, but it’s the one I’m playing least.

Goodbye Henry. - wow. She really knows how to tell a story. Having Al Green on it is so special.

Nightingale Lane. - still get goosebumps every time. Her voice is one of a kind. And she’s got such a talent at showing her emotions in her songs. I feel like it’s my break up.

Skin & Bones. - bring the vibe back up, fun poppy moment. Love.

WHERE IS MY HUSBAND! - SMASH HITTTTTTTTTTT

Fields. - really hitting home as I lost my grandfather in January. Such a special song.

Joy. - I feel like I’m at Sunday worship. Truly is what it says on the box, so joyous and gorgeous.

Happier Days Ahead. - not my fave but again her story telling and world building is unlike anyone else.

Fin. - definitely not one I’m choosing to play but I love how she took the time to name every single person involved. She is insane. Love her

AOTY hands down. So so magnificent.

Nevermind she just clarified she hasn’t started yet; but she will call it “And Then She Fell In Love” - and will release it once she has her husband 😂

Need to get round to listening to this.

One question I'm dying to have answered now the album's out - does this music contain hope?

Yes it really does. Such a positive and uplifting record

What an album! I’ll need several listens to fully digest this and post a review but it’s been a while since an album fully took me on a ride like this. It’s almost like a full on theatre show in an album the stories, the narratives throughout, the production and how many genres the album has too.

I don’t quite know how mainstream it is but i urge people to hear this. What a unique talent RAYE really is!
