Surprised Midnight Sun has dropped out, I kind of expected it around 15 today given it’s risen a lot of Apple and Spotify since Friday.

I wonder if we'll be seeing a lot more artists exclusively debuting their video on Spotify and Apple Music now. If so, I'm intrigued to see what sort of chart boosts it would provide for others.

Also I'd really love to know how far ahead she is right now.

I hope so, would be nice if it could bring some life back to post-album single and album cycles could feel like proper eras again!

Ooh Taylor's never had two #1 singles from the same album before.

Her only having one No. 1 prior to 2022 is also wild in retrospect, and that sole No. 1 being arguably her worst song too.

With Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini or Seven Little Girls Sitting On The Back Seat?

Sorry quoted twice and don't know how to resolve it.

Isn't this sort of info missing from the Sunday update so it's mainly based on Amazon / downloads / physicals? I'm sure it'll appear tomorrow.

So I guess video boosts are still a thing then! I remember when Gaga/Beyoncé's 'Telephone' shot to #1 from outside the top 10 and I think I'm right in remembering that was due to the newly dropped video too, so we could see a similar situation here, if 'Opalite' holds on. Tomorrow's sales figures will be telling, but if the vinyls are shipping this week too then she's pretty much a shoo-in for #1.

The vinyls be hard to tell how many she shifted because they were released in the middle of the night and were sold out by morning, and TFOO vinyls were a lot lower than we expected only a couple of thousand and they sold out fast too

Rein Me In needs to die a horrible death

Probably the wisest thing you've ever said on Buzzjack!

Based on the article on the OCC website it looks like they're already including the vinyl sales for 'Opalite' in this update? Really hope it doesn't stay at #1 (strong early contender for the worst #1 of the year for me if it does) but I do reckon it has a decent chance of doing so unfortunately.

LOL that a week after 2 songs in the top 5 go to ACR (one of which was released over 3 years ago), there are 3 changes in the top 5 in this update and they are all substantially older songs than the ones they're replacing. (going from songs released in January 2026, October 2025 and September 2022 to ones released in October 2025, February 2025 and June 2015). Phresh xx

Also nice at Bad Bunny already being top 15, really rooting for a top 10 - re the post earlier in the thread, the Super Bowl half time show seems to be becoming an increasingly significant event in the UK in the last few years (and I think the game itself is slowly becoming more popular too but who cares about that x), and he did already get a big boost from the Grammys which also seems to have a stronger effect on our chart with each passing year of late so I don't see why he couldn't get another big boost from this too. The song already did really well for a Spanish language track even before this.

I still remember how the premiere of that video was an absolute massive event, and obviously the video itself having so many talking points.

This feels so old school having a post-album single actually get a big boost on single release week.

But I'm pretty sure Telephone was already top 40 (because radio started playing it) before the video came out?

Off the top of my head the only post-album singles that jumped from outside the top 40 to #1 that I can think of are Gettin' Over You, Spectrum and Someone Like You (which technically wasn't a single yet).

I think the first one to ever manage it since album tracks were allowed to chart was The Way I Are by Timbaland (which I'm pleased to see is still a mainstay in the Spotify charts even today!).

Olivia not even having to climb from Monday everyone else's sales must be shocking then 😮

Ooh Bad Bunny could be on for top 5, absolutely crazy! Hoping Joji also stays up there. Bit annoying that only Robbie/Louis have been able to give us new number one albums this year...

I think J. Cole is digital only so no shock that he's not contending for #1 after the underwhelming first day and even more underwhelming second day. Pleasantly surprised that Joji is as high as #2 at the moment regardless of the sales though!

Bad Bunny album already looking on for a new peak *.* perhaps could yet outpeak 'LUX' after all x

Also something something Bonamassa

Not sure I've ever heard anything by IST IST but I see a post-punk tag on Wikipedia so I ought to investigate x
