A nice out of the blue announcement and perhaps a bit more risky than the last few years… hopefully… maybe 👀

  • I really don't see the problem with "nobodies", it's always the song, not the act, and you hearing of people does not mean they don't have talent. That you never heard of him doesn't mean he's a nobod

  • This year also has the additional notion that anyone with a fan base would surely just be making themselves a lamb to the slaughter, given many are boycotting this year due to Israel’s participation.

  • Who exactly had heard of Kalush, Nemo, JJ before Eurovision? Case closed.

Feeling very disconnected from the contest this year but must say I really like what I know from LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER, especially 'Desperado Vespa' and 'Time is Not a Healer it's a Fuel for Resentment', an interesting pick.

Another success for one of my early contest minor hit artists! Not the ideal year for it perhaps (everone else probably turned it down) but should be interesting.

Interesting choice! Not sure I’ll be watching Eurovision this year due to obvious reasons but will be keeping up with the songs.

Typical that the BBC choose this year to answer what I've been asking for for at least a decade and not only finally send a non-pop act, but one that I really like the material I've heard from before now. That's a good choice.

normally by now I would have heard some of the field to work out whether the artist stands a chance, right now I have not, but I do hope that this is a choice that works out for the BBC and him.

I've only ever heard of him from BJSC and didn't vote for either of those entries, but will keep an open mind. It certainly feels like an interesting choice (but one I wouldn't expect to connect in Eurovision based on what I've heard).

Who? Who? And who? Never heard of him. Stop picking out these YouTube nobodies to represent eurovision

And yet some of those winners songs were so terrible which made me wonder why they won

can see a potential UK 2027, but idk. I'm still not hyped for this year's contest.

All things considered, it at least seems like we're not going for the "safe" option - which although welcomed, does come with a big Electro Velvet style flop potential.

Will reserve judgement until the song is released.

Fantastic choice, a really cool artist who makes a lot of his own (usually analogue) synths. There's a lot that could be done with staging (I imagine loads of wires and industrial looking stuff everywhere) and I reckon he could pull off something both heavy and dancey if it's anything like Desperado Vespa (so perhaps broad appeal :O ), but will have to see what the song is like.

Oh yeah and it's worth saying I was super impressed by this performance before deciding to enter Desperado Vespa to BJSC (I heard this before the studio version), from what I've seen he's a great live act.

I sense quite a few turned it down before him, but great artist choice, I really liked his BJSC entries (and the artist name is wonderful), I sense this one won't be quite as unique, but I think my interest is piqued enough to give it a listen (I still can't bring myself to watch on the night though).

So he mostly has more mid tempo Daft Punk influenced stuff like Desperado Vespa or not?

So we will watch through fingers this year.
