Climbing back into the Top 100.

Keep spreading the word if you’re on other forums. The boost might be from other people seeing it as I presume most BuzzJack downloads were done yesterday!

Do PopJustice know about it?

I mentioned on PJ what was happening & that it had reached #91 on iTunes!

I wonder if we can make the title of this thread more eye catching for more members here to check what’s happening. I altered it a bit but it’s a bit wordy 😅

I don't know really, but if fans of an artist want to get their songs to go viral the best thing to do is crowdfund money amongst yourselves and find people with lots of followers of your target audience (or people who have helped songs go viral in the past) and pay them to use the songs. Some people will make a clip with your song for just a few hundred, but the really big people you might have to pay thousands.

But you also have to make sure the song is worth it. The wrong song will struggle to go viral. You want songs which have either been hits before so you already know humans like them if they get to hear them, or songs you are sure have real potential to be big.

It is very hard to engineer virality, if not impossible. You just have to hope it gets enough visibility for people to start sharing it around. Which in the low 90s isn’t probably likely.

Top 40 onwards is when people start noticing I think. Still, we’ve done a grand job to get it into the top 100 for nearly 24 hours. It’s still there now!

If one of the members of the band was to notice and join in with the 20th anniversary of the song (as well as BuzzJack ofc) then it would skyrocket.

Gone and made an iTunes account to help the cause!

It’s up to #92 now! At least it’s hanging around, seeing as yesterday it had briefly dipped back outside the Top 100.

I don't think he set out to make it viral he was at some complex of buildings and Into The Groove happened to be playing and he said 'follow that tune'.

Also there have been loads of history reminiscent trends recently heck even Jade had a mini viral moment with the BYBMH trend last September

Well done to everyone to tried their best to make this song into a viral hit on iTunes, it looks like it has certainly peaked now as the latest update shows it has dropped to #168 so I guess that's it for now.

It's been good fun to see it in there for over 24 hours, you never know if these things will take off or not. But only so much we can do as a member base ultimately. Great that we managed another top 100 for the anniversary <3 And a nice little boost to the all-time sales for this song.

Also has been a useful tool to show that around 25 sales is what's needed to make the lower end of the iTunes top 100 at the weekend these days. Perhaps we could have got higher if we'd done it midweek, but then that wasn't our anniversary.

Maybe unlike Victoria Beckham fans (and the media, apparently) they are aware of the relevance of iTunes these days!

Are we downloading all week, or did it have to be on Saturday afternoon? Unfortunately this is the first I've heard about the campaign, and I will download in a hour or two's time if it the campaign is still going, just have to pop to me mother's first.

All week absolutely! It's still in the top 200, and the longer the visibility on the chart lasts, the more chance somebody influential might notice.

It would certainly be nice if fans not on BuzzJack got behind the 20th anniversary of the song this week too. Maybe they need remindning of the iconic TV show episode of when it originally charted.

Pretty certain my late night download at 3am this morning kept the song top 100 ubtil today 🤣
