Go for a toilet break! That's what I did when 'Madame X' was announced, think I was gone 20 minutes! 😂

The fact her downloads jumped to over 6k after they put the price up of the two versions to £4.99 tells me that the £3.99 downloads didn't count??

I highly doubt the downloads were missing data?

Came here to say this! The Afterhours edition has also been increased to £4.99, so I think it’s safe to say there’s a new minimum album price the OCC haven’t told us about for some reason

What a result for Madonna. The album is incredible, in my opinion there’s only been 3 albums that have felt like huge moments this decade when they were released, CONFESSIONS II, RENAISSANCE and BRAT.

US sales (from HITS) are available and Confessions II sold 126.7k there. you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love is at #2 with 100.1k.

You did it, Grindr Nation! Madonna is #1.

The quicksilver pop queen, who scored her first chart-topping album more than four decades ago, has done it again with CONFESSIONS II (Warner), her club-loving sequel to 2005’s Confessions on a Dance Floor. Thanks to her label’s brilliant marketing campaign, which helped her manifest six-figure sales of physical product, Madge racks up 126k+ in her opening frame.

Almost 6.5k on sales-equivalent streams. cheeseblock

These really are incredible numbers! I hope streaming continues to hold up well over the next few weeks.

Also big up those 21k vinyl! That’s more than Kylie did with Tension (19k).

Interesting that Confession II actually did worse on cassette than Madame X did (1,993). Madame X did 4,628 on vinyl, which was actually quite respectable back on 2019.

Thrilled with that! Madame X did 95k and that was with the tour bundle boost, which is no longer chart eligible.

First time since MDNA that Madonna has topped both the UK and US charts.

FYI, the Billboard information comes up this Sunday, but if it's taken into the gap, there's no doubt that it will be #1 too.

ETA: Crying at Grindr nation in the article. 🤣

So pleased that Madonna is back at #1 on the UK album charts.

Numbers speak for themselves.

Just goes to show that you can never count Madonna out.

Charting songs on the UK download chart:

03 Danceteria

34 Bring Your Love

55 I Feel So Free

58 Bizarre

93 Love Sensation

Debuts at #11 on Spotify's Weekly Top Albums Global chart. It also enters at #11 on Spotify's Weekly UK Top Albums chart and #36 on Spotify's Weekly US Top Albums chart.

Is the US #1 confirmed then!? 😱

Not til Monday.

Actually, Billboard reveals the news (or the final sales) through an article every Sunday between 2pm. ET to 6pm. ET / 7pm. BST to 11pm. BST. There are times that it could extend when the gap is tiny, but this isn't the case.

Anyway, just to complement the aforementioned, HITS ≠ Billboard. Both of them are separate entities. HITS runs their own chart, which is a projection of what will happen when Billboard reveals the final chart sales later.

The numbers from HDD Hits are very similar to the Billboard 200 on Sunday the Top10 Billboard 200 will be published.
