Oh yes she just said ‘soon’…so funny.

GBI is ace, have the CD single and it actually is improving its daily rate a bit on Spotify. Don’t think it was available for years.

GBI, Edge of Saturday Night and Music’s Too Sad are all amazing! All would be much higher in the list.

Especially GBI, partially due to it having such a quirky video!

Love the video and the song - was such an out there moment at the time but it so works and I still love it now.

Also love her other collab with Towa ‘Sometime Samurai’ which seems to be sadly mostly forgotten now - the fan edit video (below) is better than the actual video!

I like 'Better Than Today', although it feels like they just chose a random album track to release at a point where the campaign had pretty much floundered. Seeing as the whole thing was centred around an X-Factor performance anyway, 'Aphrodite' or 'Put Your Hands Up' could've been better for a more vivacious performance.

I like 'Edge Of Saturday Night' a lot, although it's not a patch on 'Happier'

'GBI' is utterly fantastic. If she did that video today she'd probably get a lot of stick with cultural appreciation accusations lol

Ah never thought of that but totally right - she would be absolutely dragged if that was released now!

Lights Camera Action

UK chart peak: #59

From: Tension II

Two more collaborations exiting here. Among the swathe of dance collaborations that - by now is no secret - I really wasn't enjoying and was making me come to an impasse of sorts with Kylie, Midnight Ride stands out as a real highlight to me. It's different to the others, has some twang to it that's really infectious, but of course it was also lumped in with the likes of My Oh My, Edge of Saturday Night and Dance Alone on Tension II. Although I wouldn't consider myself a fan of Orville Peck, he and Kylie on a track together just works and they compliment one another really well. Kylie featured on Jenifer's song On oublie le reste, the fifth and final single from the latter's eighth studio album Nouvelle Page. Born from Jenifer wanting to sample Can't Get You Out of My Head, it was sent to Kylie and got the seal of approval. It's a great song, probably one that's easily forgotten about among some more high-profile collaborations. This, to me, is a fine example of the type of collaborations Kylie should be jumping on (and can be proud of).

Speaking of Tension II, Lights Camera Action lands at #75. Don't get me wrong, I do like it, but when it was released initially I really wasn't feeling it. Again, likely in part because both Tension and Tension II never fully landed for me. It's a slick bop, and I've enjoyed warming to it more watching the Tension Tour on Netflix, seeing it really come to life live and with repeated listens. A classic, though? The jury's still out.

Say Something really lit a flame and had me so excited for the DISCO era that was upon us; Kylie truly bringing the magic during dark times for everybody. And then second single Magic continued the groovy disco vibes with a much more classic feel. Now though, it doesn't really feel like essential Kylie despite, at home on DISCO as a package, being a really fun and joyous song that sets the tone for the rest of the album perfectly. It took me quite a while to get around to listening to XMAS because I really don't have the time for most of these Amazon Music originals that are never distributed to other streaming platforms and can be unnecessarily difficult to listen to. I still can't make my mind up most of the time whether I actually love the song because I think it's great, or love it in a camp kind of way because it's just milking the continuation of Kylie Christmas for all it's worth at this point. Here's to Kylie Christmas: Fully Wrapped and Neatly Placed Under the Tree (2030 Version). But hey, it gave Kylie another UK #1 at a time where she has been enjoying so much more success again.

Interesting LCA is one of my favourites and it feels low but not sure where it would end up in my Top 100 with so many to chose from.

XMAS would probably be higher for me - I think partly due to the euphoria of her snatching a #1.

Midnight Ride is ace, I think that easily could've been a hit if it reached out to a wider audience. My ex-housemate didn't even like Kylie and I got him obsessed with that song!

Magic is solid, XMAS is good fun for what it is and Lights Camera Action I enjoy as a short sharp burst of energy but it's quite far from being a Kylie classic.

Agree on your points apart from midnight ride which is just OK for me.

Xmas will probably remain special to us as it got that long awaited 8th number 1 for kylie.

Kinda lucky that she did the geisha video in X Tour - right before the accusation of cultural appropriation hit everyone lol.

I think I would have put XMAS and Magic lower in my rankings, I really don’t feel neither of them! Especially Magic, it really is just mid to me.

Pretty much agree on LCA, it’s a good track, but would have been a great album track, as a single it doesn’t do much to me. Loved the video though!

Lights Camera action is one of those very generic songs that anyone could release a very of its time type song.

Agree with Magic’s placing, it’s always baffled me that Magic is one of Kylie’s most streamed songs on Spotify and continues to get decent recurrent streams.

I’d agree with it too. I know it’s quite well liked amongst fans but I’m not overly keen on Magic either.

There are some really cool formats for GBI. They also randomly released it years later on 12” vinyl - good to see it gets some Spotify love.
