Each week, new releases from the worlds of pop and country are selected to go head to head, with one weekly winner. The winners will then go up against future weekly winners later in the year - at the end of each quarter and again at the end of the year - to determine the ultimate winner of 2026.

Olivia Rodrigo fails to top the poll for the second time since the start of her new era, with the cure losing out to Light Up by Kylie Minogue, accompanying the release of her Netflix documentary. Maisie Peters does well to make it into bronze position with five votes for her song Questions. Elsewhere, Ariana Grande tops the poll by a landslide with the first single from her upcoming album petal., hate that i made you love me. Receiving half the number of votes Ariana did in second place is Lily Allen with the JADE remix of her song Beg For Me.

Nothing massively grabbed me this week but I suppose I'll go for Taylor. I was a bit underwhelmed by the new Alex Warren though it is starting to grow. B*Witched was also better than I expected tbh.

My favourite new pop track this week is actually 'The Times' by Florrie! I haven't seen anything about that on here, it's excellent though!
