And yet Rein Me In became Sam's first ever charting single in the US? Stop comparing him to Taylor Swift it doesn't wash.

She’s bigger than him. End of. No one deserves to break Al Martino’s or Bryan Adams’ records

This literally isn't relevant, let it go. Also since when has the chart been a ranking of the biggest names in music? Being #1 doesn't mean you're bigger than Taylor Swift as an artist, it just means

Id also argue Olivia Rodrigo , Harry styles and multiple others are "bigger than him" but even they only dethroned him for a week

I have a feeling Orbiter and Be Her will enter the top 40 instead of Golden and Die With A Smile. Shame that Saxboy song is edging closer to the chart...

Here for them both making the Top 40!

In fairness it’s one single person repeating themselves over and over.

It’s done well for Sam/Olivia in the US - it’s his first song to make the Billboard Top 100.

After this week's ACR semi-clearout, the longest currently active SCR runs by weeks on chart:

54 weeks 'Rein Me In'

33 weeks~ 'Stay (If You Wanna Dance)'

25 weeks 'Choosin' Texas'

25 weeks 'Landslide'

24 weeks 'Die With A Smile'

~ non-consecutive chart weeks on same SCR run

Its even worse than we thought, after the supposed clear out, no new entries to the top 40 and only 3 new in the entire top 100 , Myles Smith, Hugel and an AI track! Music in 2026 really is fantastic, no wonder so many oldies about!

fr like where is that new clean bandit song if this was 2016 they would be in the charts easy

It’s funny how the British are obsessed with Rein Me In but in America, it only got number 64 and probably isn’t gonna show signs of climbing over there. Mr Brightside is an American anthem but the British seem to be more obsessed with it than the Americans

There are different scenarios here and the main one is the difficulty of British artists to crack into the US market. I'm aware that this has softened because of streaming, but Sam is one of the few artists who hasn't done yet and his US label hasn't pushed him either. "Rein Me In" is his only Billboard Hot 100 entry as of now and Capitol has pushed the track only on Alternative and Triple A radio formats, which I guess it would be Radio X as a parallel.

That’s impressive that ‘Landslide’ is so high up the list! I was going to say that it had three weeks more to go, but we don’t know for certain which week it actually evaded ACR.

And two of those songs hoping to peak or repeak this week is also impressive!

Not nice to say about someone being famous for looking stupid. That's an horrible thing to say about someone based on how they look.

Only one i can think.of is ibiza final boss, but fair play to him for milking it

Another rule I’d change about the charts if I was in control is that if a song dodges ACR 3 times, it will be automatically put onto ACR and if the song is under 3 years old, the only way it would get a reset is 25% increase

Maybe it’s a good thing we don’t have you in charge then 😜🤣

If a song doges ACR? So you mean a song that’s outperforming the market consistently? How would you deem a song ‘dodging’ ACR - surely you could say every song ‘dodged’ ACR by being successful? melb

It’s a good rule. It will help speed up the turnover for number 1 singles

If a song is due for ACR and avoids it

"If a song dodges ACR 3 times in a row" that means every song would have 15 weeks on SCR!
