At the risk of sounding like a pop critic between Adela & Miley Cyrus this weekend - I think this album is a solid first album for her and it’ll act as a great base for her to grow as an artist, especially now she’s got hits under her belt and the world at her fingertips. I think I, ultimately, prefer The Provocateur EP and the soundscape she displayed there. The rough-edged electronic, gritty pop of Superscar, SexOnTheBeat, Death By Devotion (and now KGB from this album) feels like a unique lane for her.

I really like plenty of these songs individually - particularly “Boys”, I’d say, is the stand out of the songs we hadn’t heard before the album. Fantasize is great too. But, I did have this frequent thought throughout of “this sounds a bit Doja”, “this sounds a bit Tate”, “this sounds a bit Ariana” so I think she’s going to need to flesh her sound out a bit more going forward so that the music is as strong as the image and the performance is.

Still in love with KGB & Ain’t In LA though and she IS, without doubt, a star. I’m intrigued to see where she goes next and I hope it’s the more punchy side of her, as I don’t want her to become the next Madison Beer, I want her to continue to grow as a huge and exciting star. Excited to see her live next year too, think plenty of these songs will come alive with her performing the shit out of them.

Becoming a big fan of her, this album is probably an 8/10 for me. I’ve been hammering ‘Ain’t in LA’ a lot, especially because my bfs ex lives there, it gives it that little something extra haha!! Anyway, Nicole and Boys are also both 10s.

SexOnTheBeat's not on the album because it's from her EP The Provocateur that was released last year - I'd recommend listening to that if you like those two tracks but were indifferent on much of PRIMA as it leans a lot more into their "edgier"/more provocative sound. SUPERSCAR and DeathByDevotion are two personal faves of mine from the EP but the whole thing's good, I found it much better than PRIMA tbh

Impressed how thoroughly she's captured the early-2010s popstar with this album, right down to every track outside of the singles being a boot
