Friday at 19:245 days After literally scrambling and waffling all week for a second choice I’ve landed on an electroclash bop that I’m fairly certain is dead on arrival. Can’t wait to DNQ this month, hopefully it picks up some fans

Friday at 19:525 days I just listened to my semi for the first run - quite a diverse listening experience! A few songs stand out for the big points. Also, quite a few I already know in both semis, some from the PopSquare. Song Contests.

Friday at 20:155 days Oh no, why are Anri and Sophia Stel's songs in the other semi. 😨(Also joining in the Sophia Stel hype, as she was sent in Unknown Pleasures this year as a featured artist of Placid Angles) ((sorry not sorry I was first))
Friday at 20:215 days Expecting absolutely nothing exciting for my song, but I love it so its whatever
Friday at 20:425 days Even though I'm not taking part, I will listen to the 14 minute song and the 37 minute song.

Friday at 21:195 days YouTube playlists:Semi-Final 1Semi-Final 2~'Pendulum' is only my second ever main contest entry that was released before 2000 (following µ-Ziq's 'Hasty Boom Alert'), I came across it back in January when I was trawling RateYourMusic for an entry for The Best Song Contest In The World... Ever! in the 'one word, one noun' edition, iirc I found it when searching for 'IDM' but I'm not sure that label really fits this particular song (certainly ambient and I also like the sound of 'toypop' which is listed as a secondary genre on the album). Obviously didn't send it there in the end but it's remained a song I've felt like going back to every now and then since so feels right to finally send it somewhere else. Apols to the long song haters (although the presence of Dobago's entry makes mine feel insignificant in comparison xx) but I've listened through this song in its full 14 and a half minute glory plenty of times and I never think it feels that long, it is quite minimalist but also gets very intricate~ and ~immersive. Hope it'll find some fans. Ideally enough to not be a third DNQ in a row please. x (This will be either the first time I qualify in a contest hosted by Skall or the first time I DNQ with a song over 6 minutes long, choose wisely! Funnily enough the last time I DNQed three times in a row also ran through a Skall hosted contest...)Thanks to Joseph for uploading the YouTube link I've used as I was too lazy to figure out how to upload it myself (there is another upload of it on YouTube but I didn't want to use that link as it's just on some random channel that could delete it at any moment). I paid £7.99 to secure the MP3 for that upload as I couldn't download the song separately on iTunes due to its length so had to buy the full album #dedicationAgain this month I think nearly all of the small number of songs I've heard already were from previously hearing them in PopJustice/Square contests. Of those 'Ambre' was easily my favourite so yes, a bit of modest early hype for Rd'Á, will see if any of the others grow on me. (There was another entry confirmed this month that I thought was a very interesting choice which I knew already but the country in question ended up switching to something else, curious to see if they may still send their original choice to a future contest!)Aside: Danny Ray and RAY being next to each other in semi 1 oh my

Friday at 21:425 days I haven't updated my country thread for many years now so I just want to mention the back story for the track I've entered this month in here instead if that's okay, so that it at least makes sense. I don't expect it to be to everyone's taste by any means, but hopefully if you find it a trial (assuming of course that it survives the skip through a couple of minutes test!!!) then this will at least explain the meaning behind it. Cain Culto is the stage name of an ex-pastor from Kentucky, formerly Andrew Padilla. He grew up in a typical US church environment and was brought up by his family to be a religious leader and a violinist within a christian group... before he eventually came out to his family and church, who in turn very much cast him out as the "devil". I've been following him for a year or two and he makes music in quite a lot of styles (see his fabulous track last year from Jupiterdonia with Sudan Archives <3 ) but this one is deliberately a composition that blends his Kentucky church musical roots with the frantic experience of gradually realising he was viewed as a sinner and the tensions it has caused him... and his subsequent journey as he has pursued a new path within the LGBTQ+ community. It's an extreme version of something I relate to growing up in a christian environment so I decided this had to be the one when I was doing my last minute trawl before the semis closed <3 Admittedly my own journey sadly involved far less rolling around in my pants, although I'd like to think at times it did contain equally fabulous footwear.
Friday at 22:085 days (or in the terms that Rob and I have been speaking in this thread, it reminds me of discovering a song whilst being chased by Christians through Poundland)
Friday at 22:105 days So glad I'm back my track is basically the band has never been used, basically I'm bringing new music to the table, I love it, and its got that summer vibe as well to it. Its quite an earworm once the track gets going. Enjoy... And I think I found my next entry, going towards a different direction music wise
Friday at 22:135 days Welcome back Mart!n, it's nice to see Kylienips back in the contest after such a long break <3

Saturday at 00:085 days I’m not recognizing that many names which is usually a good sign.Excited to get to the ✨Long Song✨s!I came across Roly Porter several months ago but hadn’t listened to ‘An Open Door’. A very sensible practical 360 seconds. I just got a self-cleaning cat toilet and it already saves up my household the length of this song every couple of days. Huge!!!
