I think Jack has forgotten HUGEL, surely that's a contender unsuree

I think the contenders are usually actual number 1s and names that will keep people interested. No one cares about Hugel and he isn't number 1

If the industry really see Sienna Spiro as 'the new Adele' as it seems they need to do something else with her. People forget that part of Adele's big breakthrough was Rolling in the Deep and going BIG with the drama of the tracks. I think Sienna has it in her but she can't keep bringing out the same low tempo songs

To be fair, that was Adele's second era where she came into her own after being fairly mediocre previously.

At least Confessions II has got a Top 10 single under its belt...

The power of Kylie’s gay fans

I know this won't hang around for much longer but I'm glad it's shown the level of longevity and success it has deserved.

Well maybe Kylie lifts it but that sounded fairly poor oops.

I’d say yes: not just Kylie, but it’s a better mix.

I think Kylie’s voice is very suited to the song/style of music too.

Biography

Olivia Rodrigo recognises that the yearning, melancholy aspect of her love songs is key to their intense emotional appeal—beginning with 2021’s weepy smash, “drivers license”. “I think that grounds it in something real,” she told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe in 2026, “and that’s why we resonate with those types of songs so much.” Born in 2003 in Murrieta, California, Rodrigo juggled childhood lessons in piano, voice and acting before starring in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series and eventually turning to pop music with an abashed passion for seething ’90s alt-rock. Rodrigo was only 18 when she released her debut album, SOUR, a breakup record with a meticulous rage: “Where’s my f***ing teenage dream?” she wondered on “brutal”, the album’s Elastica-recalling opener. GUTS followed in 2023, with Rodrigo and repeat producer/collaborator Dan Nigro placing her pointillistic lyrics in an expanded sonic palette that incorporated influences from off-kilter ’90s acts like The Breeders and B******e Surfers. In the same 2026 interview, she described each of her albums as a journey of self-discovery—including that year’s you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love. Observing that it’s the first album she’d made as a woman in her twenties, Rodrigo hinted at how she traded angst for joy on several tracks. But even then, there should still be enough visceral realism to keep fans poring over every lyrical detail. - Apple Music

The comedy of the random selected song today is that it is often in the video streaming chart...

Bro I'm just getting flashbacks to Baby Shark being a top 10 hit because of the "Random" Wheel choice.

Happy this made it after an uncertain week although playing the solo version feels pretty rude to Kylie! Then again he did the same with Stateside when that was in the top 10 for a while.

Showing my age here, but I can remember one week on the Pepsi Chart Show there was a new entry for Lolly and somehow Dr. Fox managed to play the karaoke version which was the b side!

Stupid song is alright but hopefully its ACR next week for stealing the Cures spotlight

Odds of 200/1 for the all time most weeks at #1to be broken at the beginning of 2026.
