My longest streak was 9, a high mark I set with literally the very first 9 contests and then have never got anywhere near since. It’s great. Can thoroughly recommend being in the under 10 club

This kind of is what I feel like I've been doing for years tbh but I've had substantially less luck with it in the last two years or so oop. Was not that long ago that I got to a streak of 24 qualifiers and I wouldn't say many of those were me particularly paying mind to playing it safe! (Greenfroze's long run of qualifiers felt quite like that as well). I guess I am just gravitating more to even smaller niches these days x

You have beaten that streak a couple of times! You got to 13 in the run including all the One Big Final contests (those 7 followed by 6 legit qualifiers - although most of your OBF entries made the top 10 or very close so I am sure they would have qualified from semis anyway) and more recently got to 11 again in BJSCs 138-148.

A completely irrelevant detail, but Zanmatony are now beginning their 13th unique qualification streak overall since participating began. The highest we have ever reached would be 10 achieved earlier this year in fact.

Yeah, you're right, most of the time I didn't play it safe. Sure, I sent some pop songs in English every now and then, but most of the time I sent various flavors of Korean and Japanese music. I often wanted to send something a bit different that would stand out and that I still loved, long streak be damned. I still do. It feels so much better when I qualify while also bringing something fresh, quirky, risky or new to the table.

I don't want to avoid sending something I love just because I'm afraid of my streak. I've been burnt by playing it safe too many times in the past, and it feels so awful to DNQ that way. Now, I feel even more amazing when I qualify, and I'm even more okay with a DNQ, because I know I sent something I truly appreciated. I was being as honest as I could be, and if that didn't work, well, that's just fair game.

Oh I just spotted Vaskla didn't qualify from the other semi :( that would have been challenging for my 18.

Oh joy, my DNQ streak is over! Glad it's not just me as I see other DNQ streaks have ended too.

Not the semifinals doing In Color even dirtier than last time :( At least the 10 or 12 points it'd get from me wouldn't have got it to qualify but could've kept it from last at least. Boo at Almost Monday not qualifying either.
