Hello everybody. And no, this is not Déjà vu!

Welcome to the FINAL of the Steps Solo/Duo release.

As you may or may not be aware, unfortunately the semi-final was ended abruptly due to a number of frustrations with the votes being cast. After careful consideration, we have come to the decision that all 3 songs will advance to the final for a fair chance to win the competition.

But I would still like to thank EVERYONE that voted in the semi-final. We got our biggest tally yet by quite some distance and hopefully the final will be just as successful!

Myself and Lee have had a discussion about moving forward and decided that a final with all three with a vote for the winner would be the best course of action, nobody misses out this way.

 

We have agreed that anyone is allowed to vote and you are more than welcome to ask people to come and vote, but that you do not ask for them to vote a particular song.  As this is not a contest with anyone submitting their own choices, it shouldn’t really matter, but in the interest of finding the genuine favourite track we ask you ONLY vote your favourite and not a tactical vote to keep your least favourite off the top.

A solid top 3 for me

Lisa would have challenged for my vote had ‘Electric’ made the final (I was obsessed with that song and even randomly had it on repeat during my first proper break up!)

But that being said, for me, All Out Of Love was what H & Claire’s debut single should have been. It is basically Claire with backing vocals but always adored that song

And thanks mods for the decision to put all 3 into the final ❤️

So I go away for a weekend to see (arguably Steps' predecessor) Bucks "The Fizz" Fizz and I miss all that palaver in the semis???

I'd definitely agree Steps are like a mix of Abba, Bucks Fizz and Bony M!

I always hoped that Steps would do a Fizz cover, but in the end it was down to Allstars to do it.

Allstarz done it and a good job of it aswell and managed to get a top 10 with it.

For what it's worth I do not know any of these songs so I didn't vote in the poll despite being tagged to do so xo (soz Meekul)

Although it could have easily been a Steps single, that One For Sorrow/After The Love Has Gone kind of ABBA throwback formula always works for me.

Lately is my favourite of the two Lisa singles there, but I don't listen to that or Too Far Gone very much. Electric on the other hand...

Interesting votes so far, all out of love is by far my fave here and the almighty remix really elevated the song and for is better than the single edit.

It is funny how it works though. I guess Lately is seen as the inoffensive one, with no particular strong feelings either way!
