Ah I see. It might be elgornio rather than DaTilt then.

Season 3 has now been added to The Pop Factor Encyclopedia, and you can all see what would have happened if you didn't decide to vote for A, B or C mary

Well - I voted in each round for all three - just was not that active in posting in the reveal thread.

Oh sorry, it's just my bad memory, then.

A few people though I was Years and Years a few weeks ago - but I guess that’s confirmed I’m not!

…I don’t even have an act this series x selena

I think had it just been 1 returnee via Gamu, the Bush would probably have made it through at the expense of Depeche and Gary… though I reckon the former would’ve put up a good fight!

To be honest, seeing comments saying I made the wrong choice or that using ‘Influence’ was an odd decision was pretty deflating. It made me feel like, what's the point? I felt written off completely. I get that it's all in good fun and it's just a game, but we shouldn't judge someone's choices just because their plan might look different from yours. Don't knock people for playing differently!

I stand by my pick, and I definitely wasn't "barely trying." I wasn't even the only one to send an album track for week 1, yet I didn't see anyone else getting called out for it. For the record, I know Tove's discography inside out and have listened to all her albums.

This post isn't meant to be shady, harsh, or idk negative. I just needed to get these feelings off my chest so I can move on and enjoy the rest of the game.

By comparison, what was the percentage drop off from week 1 to Gamu week? I'm asking from the perspective that I was first in my category that opening week, and I don't know how many voters participated compared with the anonymous voting in Gamu round. I don't expect the outcome to have altered, just a curiosity that's all.

I think the first week was difficult this series and that was partly because we had to submit the song choice along with the acts. So I guess it was difficult to gage at what level anyone needed to go at. In fact it resulted in a fairly big majority of the songs, particularly in the already stacked Female category being absolute monsters.

And yeah reading people's comments/ reactions to song picks can be extremely hard, especially as a pile on can happen. There have been a few rounds where I've felt extremely frustrated (to say the least), and it is difficult not to get overly invested. But then, everyone has different opinions/ music tastes... I guess its just how things are sometimes expressed (and I know I'm guilty of that too at times). I'll probably touch on it slightly myself when i'm eventually eliminated/ revealed..

Haz! 🫂 I was so looking forward to hearing more from Tove Lo. I’ve only heard some of her singles but none of the albums! Educate me at some point? x

Honestly, I think it’s a good idea in theory to start with a deep(ish) cut and work your way up to bigger hits as the game progresses. That was my aim with Years & Years to begin with, the first song I sent wasn’t one of their best-known singles. You really didn’t do anything wrong there though, Harry.

It’s unfortunate because everyone has a different way of approaching this game, and it’s all valid. Some of the female acts went with extremely well-known and era-defining hits straight away! 😱 Which is a challenge for those who sent lesser-known songs.

I guess as a general point, all of us who take part in this (including myself!) should always try and be mindful to not inadvertently hurt other people’s feelings during this process, by being too critical of their decision making. Like, be careful with our phrasing. “That’s an interesting choice! Maybe not what I’d have picked but I’m looking forward to hearing it”, would surely land better than “Oh, that’s a weird choice” (just an example, don’t think these are real quotes).

I think both of you make good compassionate thoughts. I know it wasn't personal even if it seemed like it was. It was hard to gauge if people didn't like the song or if it was the song choice that got me not as much high votes. The Former I would not care really because music taste is subjective. Was just a hard first round lol to go in without knowing how others was going to play it or who I would be up against, because I am not delusional I know that the female round on names alone was hard to begin with.

Just in future perhaps we just are more careful with how we word opinions a bit because it can dampen the fun a bit if words can come across a certain way during a fun game like this.

I think I may have been one of the people to say I didn’t rate Tove Lo’s choice that week, I apologise sincerely if I made you feel deflated at all. If it is any consolation, I think that in the previous two versions of Pop Factor, that song choice would have seen you through safely it was just a very competitive category this time.

Your feelings are so valid and you raise a great point so, sorry! ❤️

Thank you for making such a brave post. ❤️

So my comment on Tove's song in week 1 was "nothing special but not terrible" - all I can say is that music is subjective and I'm afraid I just wasn't that keen on that particular song considering there are many other Tove Lo songs that I love. So I am gutted that we never got to hear more from her. I can only imagine how deflating it must feel to go out in round 1 though especially with an artist that you stan sad

I’ve always tried to be very mindful with my comments because behind it all I know there is someone that’s made that choice to send that particular song and it’s most likely one they really like.

I imagine it would feel really deflating going out in Round 1, especially when you don’t really know what you’re up against.

This isn’t a complaint but maybe we could toy with the idea of having Round 1 having no eliminations but instead combining the scores from Round 1 and Round 2 then have a double elimination. It might also mean that if you’re near the bottom after Round 1 then you play one of your ‘big hits’ to avoid the double elimination. Again just a thought.

That’s a great idea Pads.

Also I have never seen you post anything that isn’t kind and thoughtful. ❤️

That's what happened last season so everyone got to send at least 2 songs before being eliminated - I assumed it would be the same this time.

(For the groups:) 41 voters in Week 1 and 43 voters in Gamu magic
