- Lentyll make our medal positions for the first time in style with a gold - only the second time we have voted for them, surpassing the 8 points we gave to Max Lawrence in BJSC 182.

Also as I never posted my customary results ramble - I only voted for 2 of the top 10 on this occasion (and it was nearly only 1, as 'Blitzkrieg' only jumped into my votes after suddenly clicking a lot more on my final relisten). Great to see DJ Shadow giving The Spodic Empire another top 10 finish, songs from 'Endtroducing.....' have now come top 10 in The Best Song Contest In The World... Ever!, Club Bizarre and BJSC, I wonder when there'll next be an excuse for someone to mine another song from it As a couple of others already said though the 11th-15th section here was elite as that included my entire top 3 plus my 5th and 8th favourite songs of the final! Hooray for a well deserved new peak for Herbilore though a shame it still fell a little short of the top 10 (holding out hope they'll do that this month instead x). I thought 'Sherpa' might have challenged to finish a bit higher than 14th but pleasantly surprised at 'Across My Jaw' and 'Zetsuen' joining it in the top 15 as they seemed like potentially smaller niches. Absolutely do not get what happened with Elëdan, I thought that could be a winner contender but it not even being in the top half and only scraping through the semi?! Maybe y'all are just xenophobes x (Sovarasma and Zephyra Continuum were likewise way too low). Happy that Vaskla got a reasonably decent position for their first finalist.

And as my previous comment on my own position was while I was still in somewhat bitter mode, I am genuinely very pleased to have been in contention here again, especially having done so via appealing strongly to many countries who do not typically vote for Persephonia so thanks again to all - I may have carried on with sending another pop song in the next contest but still who knows when if ever the perfect storm of finding a pop song that a) I like enough to send, b) I think is unknown enough to send and c) actually does this well will ever happen again! My more likely route to ever getting that elusive third win probably still goes through the alt bloc x

(also I sent 'cherry cola' to the Pop Square Song Contest too and it got a grand total of 20 points there barely avoiding the bottom 5 so er... pop fans on here have better taste clearly)

YTD update (which is still just about the current one)

As we know the turns have tabled a bit following the BJSC 189 semi results xx but a top 10 for Hendinia last month combined with a Bøtanikkä autoqualifier that finished bottom 3 resulted in the YTD top 2 swapping over again with Hendinia back in the lead by 95 points. Neliönoir's win put the 2025 champs onto the podium for 2026, up two places to 3rd (though still 148 points behind the top two) and leapfrogging Cor Lupus who held in 4th. Also just before disaster struck, Aeroche found themselves rising a place to 5th. At least the 6th placed Fljótavík (down 3 places) won't overtake in the next update since they didn't enter this month. The Spodic Empire rose 3 places to 7th and Skall climbed two to 9th, each slightly nudging down Sovarasma and Elëdan while Kluminican Republic's qualification streak breaker also saw them fall out of the YTD top 10, down 4 to 12th. Positive moves in the top 20 for Trifoski, Séyetana, Lentyll and Freidland (who are now in the YTD top 20 without ever placing in the top 20 in any individual contest, ikonik). Ojnoj, Lentyll and Terra Avium became the latest countries to pass 1,000 points for the year. My glorious silver medal was a bit of a leg up but could only do so much to counter my 4 DNQs earlier in the year so I still sit outside the top 30 at the moment (similar story for FSR Rontvia).
