My stance on this twist;

It will be interesting to see how different the judging panel dynamic is this time. Last time it was so well balanced that almost every decision went to deadlock. I think Jaz is a good replacement for Jim and their taste won’t be all that far apart. On the other hand Lee hasn’t been replaced at all, so the panel could be less pure pop leaning overall but we’ll see.

What time does it all kick off? I may be able to make it after all.

(I guess revealing myself as a judge / sort of already revealed by the judge name I chose to keep does mean indeed I don’t have an act - I think it would be against the interests of fairness were I say M83’s mentor and they won the Gamu)

In all honesty my not having an act comes down to me not checking the forum as much as I should and only finding out it was about to open right as I was in the middle of prepping BJSC semi results and so I had no time to prep one act let alone 3 potential ones. Entirely my bad but that’s pretty much why.

Calum offered me to judge again soon after it started which was very lovely as I enjoyed it last year. As with rogue, see you in s4 maybe

Plus lots of acts I had seriously considered to go for after last time aren’t European so my vague plans were thrown into chaos - I could have mentored M83 I guess had I thought of it (and a few acts still in!) and was indeed trying to act as if I were their mentor for a bit to sow up confusion.

Okay, since the cat is pretty much out of the bag (Julian) I admit I am a Traitor …. I mean the third judge.

Some of you may have noticed that I missed the deadline to enter the contest and soon after Calum very kindly offered me the judging role. I’ve tried to keep pretty quiet since then, whilst continuing to vote, so that it didn’t influence my decisions for this round. But it’s been really great fun so thanks again Calum.

As regards this stage, no BS it was genuinely really hard to choose, there were so many great songs in my category, but I’ve definitely tried to be fair in what I decisions I made.
