Looking good for MCR! Feels wrong that they've never had a number one album before

could Jamie clear 60k this week? he was on 27,074 last Wednesday and ended up with 47,548 by Friday - the same proportion of increase this week would see him on 68,288 sales by Friday 😮

poor Tate getting stuck at #2 despite putting up far bigger sales than many recent #1s have done sad

I don't think a contrasting view is "ultra defensive". Comparing a song to a disease isn't really appropriate and never was, though.

The song 'Babydoll: reminds me of an ultra defensive mode tactic in football. Hence it's dull.

Wow! It seems like such a long time since we had Wednesday sales, as big as that - particularly without physicals.

I wonder the last time we had a number 2 selling as much as Tate!

Its so annoying, with sales like that to not get a no.1 when all no.1s lately have been some of the lowest sales ever

Rein Me In is number 8 tonight so looks like a 9th visit to the top 10 on Friday, and to equal Last Christmas with 51 top 10 weeks - just 2 behind Mariah !

Gutted for Tate :(

Maybe she can do a Where Is My Husband in the new year, I can't see her getting it at all before the new year.

Lol at the top 3 being almost 10k apart when they were only like 1k apart last week

Shame for Tate, hope she can get there at some point soon

Also they best reset Jade by Friday!

It's mad how on Friday everyone thought it was a foregone conclusion Tate McRae would be #1 this week after missing out, now she's 9k behind.

I think the Strictly boost was quite noticeable. Makes a change for a TV promo slot to have such a big impact!

Nice to see the Expectations remix so stable! It's having more legs than I originally anticipated.

It felt like the good old days seeing a new hit performed on Saturday night TV and it having a noticeable impact!

I’m not huge on Babydoll but it’s at least got a tune to it where as Tates track didn’t really do anything for me so I’d probably rather him stay at #1 but wish Olivia and Chappell had managed a week there!

I hope this encourages labels to use SCD as a performance / promo slot again. Even BGT only has on past contestants and musical theatre ensembles now.

Ooh take me back to The halcyon days of 2010 when the guests performers on X Factor were near guaranteed a top 10 placement if not number one.

Yeh, I also think there were other factors involved such as it being a new song so many wouldn’t have heard it which gives it an extra boost etc.

Unless they were No Doubt.
