Am I the only one who thinks the Mint Royale song isn't all THAT great? There's not much to it ... :(

I hated the track back in 2005 but now it just seems to fit with the culture of todays music and I was more pop/rnb back then whereas im now into dance so...

There's 'Rockstar' as well as 'Singin' In The Rain'...

I think in the top 5 albums of the year there are albums from 2005, 2006, 2007 & 2008! :|

but its not like anyone knew about Rockstar in 2005, it was merely an album track from a flop album that nobody originally bought

you're right about the top 5 albums of the year! why do people insist on taking YEARS to buy an album

I'm really upset about Madonna's album.

Does anyone know the position of 'In My Arms'?

"Fascination" down 1

"Ten Thousand Nights" down 2

:yahoo: Thanks :D

"Not Top 38" is all we know so far

Mint Royale is #1, and Pauil Weller in the albums

Give 5 to 10 mins to update

They may be #1 now, but their sales will surely collapse later in the week.

Excellent for Mint Royal!

I've heard Radio 1 play it today, so who knows, maybe they might add it back onto their playlist? But it'll be #1 this week imo.

How are Alphabeat (both singles)?

Fascination Down 1 and 10,000 Nights Down 2....

It was answered earlier ^_^

I'm not one to gossip, I still think the track will stay at #1.

To be honest it makes the singles chart more exciting having a track that wouldn't peak at #1 in its original form.

I do realise that, i'm sorry! It's just that i find it a bit strange, that's all. When it's doing quite amazing everywhere else, and even the single is doing fab in the UK but album is just falling and falling.

In the UK maybe but worldwide sales - the 3rd most selling album of 2008 so far
I think at the moment the only way HC is doing 'quite amazing' elswhere is with INITIAL chart POSITIONS not overall SALES (wait till the end of the year after all the big album artists like Coldplay have released, the steady sellers like Duffy end up and the Xmas sales to see if HC is still 3rd (it MIGHT BE but its not relevent NOW - its too early) - its a MADONNA album, of course, the gigantic fan base she has built up over an incredible consistent 25y and stabalized with repeatedly huge successful come backs are always going to be buying her new album whatever - AL despite being overall her least popular and successful proper studio album sold well initially with #1s the world over but look were that ended up! However to hit the top of so many charts the world over at the same is still an amazing feat imo

This is from BJs M forum last week, despite the #1 start there is NO sign of overall sales stabalizing the key of big album sales;

You assume the single is being bought for Madonnas input when it looks possible since successful Madge lead singles have always been followed by huge(proper studio) album sales (taking into account album sales at the time) this may not be the case - i mean cf your usual M single she hardly features and the sound is anything but unique to call hers. Also i noticed as the single hit its stride that JTs album was creeping back toward the top 40 again - i think that speaks volumes given the number of directly against expectations, around recent M releases .

Top 30

Mint Royale - Harpy ??

How does a song that's not on the iTunes Top 100, and has no physical release get into the Top 30?? Surely it's an error and it's another version of "Singin in the Rain".

For anyone interested it seems 39 and 40 positions are these songs...

Having gazed at the official mids, just now...the radio station print-out, as I have put on above, actually suggests MYSTERY JETS to be 39, in the mids..with "Stop and Stare" at 40. One Republic`s newie seems to be low top 50.

Thanks to Dave in 'The Top 40 before Downloads' thread :)

Thanks for the info. You might be right - HC might be a massive flop. Still glad it did and still doing far better than Kylie's X or Mariah's E=KFC2 ^_^ (Don't ask why those two in particular :P )

Current Worldwide Sales are at 1.7 Million.

i agree

OK, I don't understand why Mint Royale are #1 and #23 both tracks have last week's position of #28 in brackets

They probably haven't been combined yet, i think thats happened before.

Who'd have thought a track that hardly anybody cared about in 2005 could now be one of 2008's biggest hits

I can't really word it properly but its kind of well... shallow. Just because a song is on tv why can't you appreciate a song before it was on tv? I'm sure most people will remember it.

Those sales are awful! 3 comebacks from huge artists selling a little more than 1.5 million and 600 thousand, and a legend reissuing an argueable 100 million selling album selling less than 2 million.

Not sure if this was asked already but where abouts is Gabriella please?

I'm sure you've read the first post, which says she's between 6 and 10, but Martin isn't allowed to give out exact positions.
