July 15, 200817 yr the thing is, I've never heard of Sugababes or Girls Aloud doing any of the things they've done, especially those scandalous text things. Yeah but the point is IF the Sugababes or GA did then they wouldn't be gettin nearly as much stick on here as McFly are! And what's so scandalous about the txt thing anyway, it's just another way of buying the track. Plus, they actually make good music That's just a matter of personal taste though.
July 15, 200817 yr As a fan of McFly I'm very surprised at their chart position already. A lot of people I know are just waiting for the free album on Sunday rather than downloading OFTR. TBH, OFTR isn't anywhere near as good as their other new stuff that I've heard so far on the new album. I haven't a clue why One For The Radio was chosen as the first single, though it seems to have gone down really well being A listed on Radio 1 and stuff.
July 15, 200817 yr Aren't there rules in place against these pages and pages of McFly hate, or do those only apply when people are slagging off Girls Aloud? if this conversation was about mariah carey, it ould have been stopped pages ago
July 15, 200817 yr Author Martin, if you get a top 100 or whatever later, can you let us know where annie is. Thanks According to Popjustice they have it confirmed as top 100

Last time I was on here was about the start of the year. Soon after my hard drive broke and I was without a computer for a couple of months. I then forgot my username and password, couldn't seem to get this site to recognise me and only just remembered to try my spam email address! I'm back at last.

If this was just a one off, people wouldnt be making such a big deal. IMO they just make a mockery of the chart.
July 15, 200817 yr Is Annie released this week? I doubt it will do well it's not exactly good imo. I think its on full release yeh.

If this was just a one off, people wouldnt be making such a big deal. IMO they just make a mockery of the chart. What I think they're trying to say is... if GA and Sugababes did it (For as long as McFly have) they wouldn't get half the stick McFly are getting
July 15, 200817 yr IMO they just make a mockery of the chart. How? McFly are obviously a band who care about chart positions and not sales, so why not let them go around signing copies of their singles if it brings the sales up. It's not like they are the only act who can do it, I'm sure every artist can write their own name on a CD for a fan, they choose not to. What is "creative" for one act is "mockery" for another.
July 15, 200817 yr Let's hope you don't wait another 6 months for your next visit :heehee: Ha, I shan't. No more cd cover comp entries from me after losing photoshop though <_< On the topic of the singles chart, I don't think McFly will hold on all week for some reason. Though it would be nice, being their first without the stupid Island Record company. There are better songs in the charts right now, but anything but that Calvin Harris and dizzy rascal number 1 please.
July 15, 200817 yr I remember the days when it was ok to do signings, Now its apparently not ok to do that now as its "Cheating" :drama:
July 15, 200817 yr what Sugababes are at 28, but with what song?? About You Now Because it was used in Hollyoaks and was flying back up the iTunes chart

Yeah I agree, it's an odd choice of single when there are better songs on the album. 'Everybody Knows' was the original choice of single and would have been a much better choice (it basically sounds like an 80's bon jovi song lol) so it will be interesting to see if they can still get to No. 1 with better songs than this.
July 15, 200817 yr Too be honest, I'm not the biggest fan of 'Everybody Knows', but perhaps having heard a demo ages ago has put me off having known it too long. I think 'Lies' sounds fantastic but they're holding that back for the full album release, but POV is brilliant. Saying that though, POV is slow compared to Everybody Knows and therefore could have been a bit risky perhaps. I'm not sure. I'm hoping Lies will be released at some point from what I've heard of it though!
