July 16, 200817 yr That was Busted. Tom wrote most of Busted's songs with them. But there is no proof that I've seen proving it was him that wrote that line. We also have to remember that he was about 16/17.
July 16, 200817 yr Jordin still has chance of getting to number 4  Can I blame McFly for me possibly getting a low score on the Top 10 predicta thing  I would like to thank McFly in respect of the same ;) :D :D

Air Hostess was not a masterpiece, and 16/17 or any other age, he shouldn't go around claiming respect and credibility for work like that.

Of course anyone who had done a bit of research would know that Tom Fletcher is the songwriter of the band essentially responsible for the music of the compositions. In short he is the tunesmith of the band. The lyrics are either covered by Danny Jones who can write both music & lyrics or the other members of McFly or in their earlier days ex-Busted's James Bourne. The one notable McFly song that he wrote entirely solo (i.e. both music & lyrics) was All About You. But it was the rest of the band who assured him the simplistic lyrics of that song were perfectly good enough, so they did not rewrite the lyrics. The blame for the Busted lyrics can firmly be blamed on James Bourne, who was starting to get bored of being in Busted so started writing silly or flippant lyrics to amuse himself. In short it is a bit like blaming Elton John for the lyrics of Candle In The Wind.
July 16, 200817 yr I wouldn't say the rest after the first 3 were forgettable. All About You wasn't one of their first 3 songs for a start. On the subject of their albums, I've always found that with McFly their album tracks are better than their singles quite often, excluding most of Room On The Third Floor, but apparently that was the record label not wanting them to risk releasing the more different songs. But saying that, releasing OFTR seems like a strange choice to me from what I've heard - and that's a definite straight from McFly idea off their own label now. The songs I was referring to were 5 Colours in Her Hair, Obviously and All About You which as you rightly say were not their first 3 singles, but they were their first 3 number 1's. As this song is better than some of their other hits, I think they will still be number 1 on Sunday, but will drop out of the top 5 next week.
July 16, 200817 yr Tom Fletcher didn't write THAT many Busted songs though he did write quite a few. James Bourne however has gradually been less and less involved in McFly's songwriting as they've released more albums. As one of their few fans on here though I'm pleasently suprised they're heading for #1 this week :D

As a fan I can see it unfortunately dropping way out of the top 10. With the Mail on Sunday having their album and all.
July 16, 200817 yr actually it's great that the untalented McFly kinda saved the physical singles market!!!!
July 16, 200817 yr A quick compilation album update clearly shows the "Mamma Mia Soundtrack", ahead of the artist album (Basshunter), by nearly 5,000 copies! The combined top 5, as follows: 01 Mamma Mia Soundtrack - Various 19,495 02 Basshunter 14,644 03 Sharleen Spiteri 13,185 04 Coldplay 12,830 05 Duffy 9,208
July 16, 200817 yr Full update with sales and Dizzee is catching up, :o on page 1 Of course he is, did you really think Mcfly were going to be No 1 when they sell 50% of their single sales for the week on the first day and have such rubbish download sales?
July 16, 200817 yr Oh come on Dizzee/Calvin fans, buy the track this week, now there is 2k in it it is possible they can stop McS**t (even though i suspect its not gonna happen) I hate you-know-who so much, grr, come on downloaders!!!!

After Dizzee outsold them so much on Tuesday, and with the rest of the week to consider, Mcfly have no chance. DR be ahead by the Friday midweeks at this rate I predict , if not then definitely by Sunday. Don't worry..
July 16, 200817 yr Jesus, that was one hell of a gain in one day for dizzee!!!! Nearly choked on my coffee! Cool that annie is top 50!

DR be ahead by the Friday midweeks at this rate I predict , if not then definitely by Sunday. Don't worry.. McFly had the hype on day 1, and now the gap is getting thinner, I think it will be close in the end, especially with Saturday sales, and I guess the chavs will be out on Saturday, so they might push Dizzee even more
July 16, 200817 yr Excellent I don't see McFly breaking the 30k barrier now this week, while Dizzee appears to be on course for another 40k...
