July 15, 200817 yr If f*cking Basshunter make the #1 album over Sharleen Spiteri I will emigrate to Iraq. Looks like you're off to Iraq :P Basshunter won't be caught, it will sell well in the weekend. I think McFly will end up at #2 or possibly #3. I thought it wouldn't do very well because the physical might be hard to get hold of, but we're not at that stage yet
July 15, 200817 yr unfortunately i think mcfly will be number one coz there fan base just doesn't give up. Oh and i did tell people that madonna was unlikely to get another no1 because of losing sales to early downloads. 6 is still good though. Edited July 15, 200817 yr by Robintime11
July 15, 200817 yr Author Don't worry - that 3 for £4 will have ultra-front-loaded their sales, they won't last the week. I take your word for it
July 15, 200817 yr I think Basshunter will surely be number 1 by Sunday, remember how Scooter's sales increased during the week? And if McFly do get to number 1, watch them drop out the top 20 next week :P
July 15, 200817 yr Author Actually both charts are full of surprises this week, never expected to see Sharleen that close and at #2, and I never predicted McFly at #1.
July 15, 200817 yr this also might explain things about mcfly's lead, they did cd signings yesterday (deja vu anyone?? how many times have they done this?) at 2 locations and will be doing more this week. they always do these tactics to get sales, desperate much? reeks! poor dizzee with the better track that appeals to the wider public has a BIG battle against them maybe too much to cope with their onslaught. but the good news is we could see a horrific drop next week  how horrific? bring on next week!
July 15, 200817 yr Aw McFly fans will never give up :o They have the records for the most undeserved #1s ever! And please, could their fans stop with the "its not their fans, its just that people love their new sound": the song is nowhere close to the top on Itunes, and downloads reflects the real power of a song. Whatever, Dizzee will have a 1-2-1 chart run :P
July 15, 200817 yr mcfly seem to be doing well on itunes atm(better then they usually do) they have no txt downloads at all this time around One for the radio seems popular with people out of the fanbase and it seems to have been getting a lot of airplay ithink it will do what the heart never lies did number 3 then 9 next week
July 15, 200817 yr How is it Now that Physicals are doing SOMETHING for a song everyone moans! Why is anyone that shocked its gone to number 1? They know that McFly have never had a big Download following and do so much better on physicals so its hardly a shock now is it? ;)

And you can't buy their singles individually on HMV online they are sold as a 3 for £4 bundle. So how is it registered as 3 sales  If its sold as a bundle its 1 unit, am I right or wrong

It means, without their teenage fanbase, that they would just miss the top20, and THIS is quite bad. As all of their songs, it will be forgotten in 3 weeks, and in a 10 years time, noone will ever remember McFly because they're unable to get real hits.
July 15, 200817 yr Why dont people just get over the fact McFly have a strong fanbase? After all thats what all the artists are after after all isnt it? A Large Fanbase which leads to sales, which leads to releasing more music, for a larger fanbase, larger sales and more music it goes round in a cycle you know?

A Large Fanbase which leads to sales, which leads to releasing more music, for a larger fanbase, larger sales and more music it goes round in a cycle you know? No, the most important is to have big hits to a larger audience so they can be remembered in 10 years! Girls Aloud and the Sugababes for example will be remembered because they have all had big hits. McFly only sells thanks to their fanbase, that's why they won't be remembered when people look back at the noughties.

Oh yeah, that reminded me. They're in Reading today at Woolworths. I was there this weekend and saw a poster saying they'd be there on the 15th - probably signing.
July 15, 200817 yr Please dont tell me they did that 3 versions for a price thing again? Sorry but mcfly are pathetic, i really thought this time around, they were gona be about the good music. They are a joke.
