I know someone would mention the abysmal chart run of Feeder's only bad song at some point in this thread.

Of course. This thread is about this but not about Feeder.

At least it proves I don't arse-kiss every track, just cos it's by Feeder! :P. 'Pushing the Senses" despite the afforementioned T+F is a great summer-time album, "Polythene" however is a CRAZY album, and you can't put it into a season. Echo Park is half summer for festival anthem reasons, and autumn for the others.

Several of the Elvis re-releases managed big falls from the top 5 (although they had each been top 10 when first released, so they *might* not count):

1-20 One Night/I Got Stung

2-33 Crying In The Chapel

3-36 She's Not You and A Little Less Conversation

4-34 The Wonder Of You

5-37 Return To Sender

The U2 song that fell 5-27 was called Walk On, not Hold On (which would have been an ironic title!).

Primal Scream - Kowalski fell 8-38 in 1997, and Connie Stevens - Sixteen Reasons left the top 50 from #9 in 1960 (it was the song's only week in the top 10).

Bon jovi have had a lot too

Who Says You Can't Go Home 5PEAK {5}-32-54->3 2006

As you see Mcfly, we can say they have good chart positions but not to good chart runs with these big falls

Elvis Presley had some fast dropping songs during the 2005 #1s re-issue campaign:

One Night 1-20 (matches McFly)

Way Down 2-30

She's Not You 3-36

The Wonder Of You 4-34

Return To Sender 5-37

The biggest fall from #10 for a song that remained on the chart the following week is still (I think) Come Play With Me by Wedding Present in 1992 which fell 10-65

Woah really thats amazing :D

Woah really thats amazing :D
it managed it purely because it was a limited edition single, limited to about 10,000 to 15,000 copies so most will have sold in the first week...

I didn't realise Atomic Kitten fell so bad. :cry:

I didnt either :cry: 'See Ya' was actually the song that got me into Atomic Kitten I love it!

Can't forget Morrissey :lol:

You Have Killed Me {3}-20-44-74->4

Let Me Kiss You {8}-33-58->3

Irish Blood, English Heart {3}-18-33-56-70->5

The More You Ignore Me, The Closer I Get {8}-31-61->3

Also Mel C's

Goin' Down {4}-18-30-50-64R(2)-67->6

didnt that katie melua and that other bird song really drop at one point?

sorry if it didnt, i just thought it did.

Also worthy of a mention are Gnarls Barkley - 'Crazy' and Nelly Furtado - 'Maneater', both of which vanished in 2006 from #5 and #10 when they became chart ineligible due to rules...

Cliff Richard 21st Century Christmas/Move It 2 {2}-7-43

The Pogues Featuring Kirsty MacColl Fairytale Of New York 9-OUT (though it spent more than one week in the top 10)

And have you forgot Elvis? :blink: :P

Elvis Presley One Night/I Got Stung {2005} {1}-20

Elvis Presley Crying In The Chapel {2005} {2}-33

Elvis Presley The Wonder Of You {2005} {4}-34

Elvis Presley She's Not You {2005} {3}-36

Elvis Presley Return To Sender {2005} {5}-37

Almost in the top 10, but not quite:

Elvis Presley A Big Hunk O' Love {2007} 12-OUT

The Chemical Brothers Loops Of Fury 13-OUT

Thanks to polyhex

I know it's not the biggest fall, but Blur's Beetlebum fell from 7 to 27 in one week.

Also, as stated above, Elvis' One Night/I Got Stung in 2005 fell from 1 to 20 in a week (a la McFly).

Saying the big drop for Tumble and Fall was "deserved" was being a bit harsh tho.

It's not like Feeder are the sort of band who intend to wind people up, with stupid statements like Chris Martin does, and start acting like they have their heads shoved up their a*ses. Nope, they're the total opposite :).

Getting back on topic, "Walk On" by U2 is officially the record holder for the biggest drop from 5th after entering at that position.

Say It Isn't So 10PEAK {10}-29-44-48-60-67-73R(5)->7 2000

Worse single from a really bad album, even for them. The western-themed video was a joke.
