August 9, 200816 yr Im quite looking forward to Lily's too  - I hope its true about Dizzee releasing wanna Be next and i hope its on Lilys album as a bonus track or something coz that could hlp the album too  Im also actually looking forward to Keri Hilsons Debut :w00t:
August 9, 200816 yr Lets not forget that the quality of the first single can really affect how well the album is gonna do! Unfortunately I think Bloc Party are probably the most likely to be lost in the rush at this rate :( I'm not completely sure about the live version I've heard from Kaisers new one then again I said the same about Ruby and that turned out to be a brilliant pop song that outdid even the record companies' expectations!
August 9, 200816 yr "Mercury" is a pretty bad lead single i think...Really not great from them :( I expected alot more. Unless they have an amazing "Flux" esque second single, i can see their album underperforming.
August 9, 200816 yr Mercury is absolutely bloody dire. I miss the days of Banquet/Helicopter/Two More Years-esque Bloc Party. When they were good. :(
August 9, 200816 yr Author I think Bloc Party may open up to more of a wider audience, as I find 'Mercury' quite chavvy-lyk. :heehee:
August 9, 200816 yr Well everyone hated Flux when it was first played and it ended up being their biggest selling single  Anyway I like it and I like them for the fact they've progressed and have not just stuck to doing the same thing they did with Silent Alarm which they could have easily done! I loved their previous albums so I'll definitely be picking this one up along with Kaisers, Keane, Razorlight, U2, Metallica and The Killers. Well I intend to that's if I have the money for all of them
August 9, 200816 yr Whether Dido releases is anyone's guess. If she *does* though, she will easily beat any opposition - I can see her shifting 500k on week 1.
August 9, 200816 yr I'm really looking forward to Pink, Britney and The Killers. I hope Beyonce and Lily gets their new ones out too :w00t: I'm not really bothered about anybody elses. I know Mum will be getting Take That though :D Edited August 9, 200816 yr by Glyn
August 9, 200816 yr The end of year looks GREAT for albums :o I'll certainly be getting my hands on Oasis, Timbaland, The Killers, Kasabian and of course the magnificent Bloc Party. Can't wait for that one! Kings of Leon are releasing in September too, I know it's not exactly the end of the year, but I think it'll still be pretty big ^_^
August 9, 200816 yr And enough of all the Bloc Party bashing  I think Mercury is bloody brilliant. I wasn't too keen on it at first but it's definitely in my top 5 BP songs now!
August 9, 200816 yr The only album I've bought this year so far is Duffy. And thats because none of my fave artists were releasing. But I can see I'll have a busy Autumn! Dido, Anastacia and Pink are must-haves for me and probably the Killers too!
August 9, 200816 yr Dido is definitely releasing this year, her first single has already been anounced. ;) Girls Aloud and Sugababes are also releasing in Autumn too. Not to forget Ciara, also. So many great CD's going to be released, how are they going to cram them all in a couple of months? :o
August 9, 200816 yr I am particular happy about  - Kaiser Chiefs - Razorlight - U2 - Take THat First I have to hear it: Oasis (the songs from the last albums weren't too original or great , IMO) Don't care about these ones: - Timbaland - Britney Spears - Kelly Clarkson - Dido
August 9, 200816 yr If Take That release a NEW album then considering the last one shifted over 2 million including over 400k in the week before Christmas 2006 it's conceivable they may be a threat to Duffy – can’t believe no one else has picked up on them! It’s true Dido's first single is gonna go a long way in determining how much and how fast the album will sell. If it's a 4/5 week No1 then the album will cruise over 2 million copies by Christmas.
August 9, 200816 yr Beautiful World's sales in it's first 6 weeks... 169k 199k 229k 443k 104k 30k I know it was because of christmas but to have sales rise 4 weeks in a row in a hyped comeback is pretty incredible. Espescially in the 2nd week, where the fans would already have bought the album and i would of expected sales to drop below 100k

Espescially in the 2nd week, where the fans would already have bought the album and i would of expected sales to drop below 100k I'm more pleased with the fact that the 241K buyers who've bought it since 2008 - are likely to be 'new' to them and if we assume that even half of them buy the new album (added to those that would buy it anyway) we're looking at pretty healthy sales. Having said that - I don't think it would be enough to threaten Duffy's 2008 sales. Norma
