Elliot minor...although not to the same scale (ie from like #20 or something)...but they do drop like a brick with every single =[

To be fair Elliot Minor can get away with spending 3 weeks in the charts with the releases below when you consider their peak positions -

Still Figuring Out: 17-38-56.

Parallel Worlds: 22-32-51.

Quite shocking when you think McFly got to #1 and only spent an extra week in the Top.75 :o My favourite chart run ever-

Babys Coming Back: 1-20-39-59

the video got it's first play and it's brilliant

invloves a proper story, fire, fighting and stuff

it goes to show that mcfly put everything into their stuff unlike other acts who just sit on stools or walk about in their videos

FIRE? O-M-G! This is well impressive!

Oh no! Please not again. I put top 20 coz its all it deserves but god knows what stops they will pull out, ten versions for a pound? 20 text downloads? Giving every cd buyer a kiss on the cheek, 1 kiss per cd?

If they mess around again, i hope it REALLY flops. If they do a normal release, good luck to em.

I think it's quite good but, they're gonna have to sell one heck of a lot of singles to break even with the cost of that video, especially as they have to finance it all now, don't they?

No idea where it will chart though, I suppose it will depend on how may formats they are offering, or what other enticements go with it. B)

Yeah but the Spice Girls had decent runs at least.

I can't think of any other act today with such RIDICULOUS chart run. I mean c'mon, the last single peaked at 2 and spent... TWO WEEKS in the top40! TWO WEEKS!!!!!!!! Shame on them. They shouldn't try so hard to get #1 with every release because their chart run after week 1 are just HILARIOUS, they won't get any respect like that

Billiam have worse chart runs.

NEWSFLASH: MCFLY HAVE ALL HAD SEX CHANGES!

Buzzjack's reaction:

"omg this is great  "

"this deserves #1 over all indie bands like scouting for girls  "

"wow! this is the best thing ever because its got females on it  "

If you're implying that everyone on buzzjacks hates Mcfly because they are men then uve got issues.

My personal dislike to Mcfly is the fact that they constantly declare that they should be loved and respected in the music industry because of their #1s but singles that peak at #12 end up selling more then them in the long run, and this has been happening with them for 3 constant years now. If they didn't beg to be respected, then they might actually get it.

 amused by the females comment, though i think the british industry as a whole is favouring new female talent over male just now, rather than just buzzjack (think of all the girls with only a first name from our shores :P ). Most male artists we have are rappers we've borrowed from america (who usually do the rappy bit in the middle of some female soloist's latest single anyway). We do however have an oversupply of male "indie" (in the most ironic sense of the word) bands most of whom don't generate the same level of interest on here as their female pop counterparts, despite selling shedloads.

McFly don't really fit anywhere just now, and have taken positive steps to become more the kind of band they wish to be rather than what the record company feels will sell (ie. with setting up their own label). With this, they have a lot to prove though, as i'm sure many industry insiders and reporters have said going it alone will be the end of them, so landing high placed hits will generate some good PR to deflect this.

However, paraphrasing from my previous post, McFly can't really alter their fans buying habits (and ergo their chart runs) and i don't think their chartrun good or bad will get them any respect- i think the quality of their music is the only hope of that.

Haven't heard the new album so really have no idea but i do think they produced competent pop songs in the past and do write songs and play their own instruments which surely is a start. Whether they can go the full rock route they seem to desire without alienating their existing fanbase remains to be seen, guessing the new album may be cautiously moving that way but the transition won't be complete overnight.

I reckon this song will do very well number 1 for 2 weeks and will hang around more. I quite like this song which is strange coz i don't really like much of their other songs.

I hate them. I don't even need to waste precious typing time going any further.

3-30-65-OUT

Bless them.

I never thought i'd hear myself say this, but I really love their new song. :D

I hope it charts high, and i think it will hang around in the top 40 for a few more weeks then usual.

I usually stand back at laugh at the McFly bashing - i agree their usual stuff is a joke - but for this song i make an exception. I love it!!!

Not a fan of McFly, but this is a decent track and against the pap infesting the top end of the charts at the moment and the lack of any good, massive new releases imminent, I hope it tops the chart.

 Amazing post

I LOVE this song and people automatically decide they hate it, because it's McFly. It's already considered a flop before they've had chance to listen to it. This song is very impressive. and is Totally different to what they usually do. I really hope it does well for them.

LMAO at GW post!

I voted number 2, and I might have voted number 1 if the option was available. The song is of a much higher quality (IMHO) than anything they've released in ages, so it deserves to do better, but that might be limited by people who wouldn't dream of buying anything with McFly's name on it. The over-keen fans don't help with this. Releasing the download a week early means they might suffer chart-peak wise too, and will this be their first single since Woolies stopped stocking them?

Agh!! I should not be suprised really but they are doing it again getting fans to multiple buy/download the new single -

September 7th-

'Lies' Download

Single & Video bundle download for 99p

September 14th-

Download bundle for £1.50 (Which consists of 3 individual downloads of the song and exclusive video)

CD1, CD2 & DVD pre-order bundle pack for £5.99

3 formats for £5 in HMV & Zavvi

7 Record signings across the week

This is so gonna be like all their other releases - I wish they would just release a CD and download and see how the song performs!! My new chart run prediction - 11-3-34-72
