LOL at Jennifer Hudson being over-rated, one of furthest songs at the moment from it.

Eton road were great :)

Made me  though the fact Louis didn't put them through before Avenue were Chucked out and TBH Eton Road were better than the other artists he put through!

Hope Britney can keep climbing. I'm really getting back into POM after last night.

those awards are on tommorow so i'll watch then and i love britney and piece of me

The greatest thing to happen to the UK charts for years:

Whilst all the 'here today, gone tomorrow' indie bands which were only a success due to record company hype have already started to fail (One Night Only, Rev & The Makers, Pigeon Detectives, Fratellis, Automatic etc) it's fantastic to see bands that have slowly built up their fanbase with every album becoming bigger and better and aren't dropping in popularity. Kings Of Leon for #1, Biffy Clyro in the top 10. Let's just hope Elbow win the Mercury tonight and send 'The Seldom Seen Kid' back into the top 10 and 'One Day Like This' to the top 40! :D

It just makes you wonder though... If McFly did a similar thing... would they be getting the same reaction?

JUST WONDERING! -_-

:o (btw we need a jaw drop emoticon, a nice tall one, this is overused :P )

Most surprising thing since Katie Melua made #1 and before that a long long way.

Oof that's some lead, I'm not fond of the song but it's refreshing to see something new at the top I guess.

I very much doubt that McFly would ever get that sort of lead atop the i-tunes chart.

Its BRILLIANT to see such an amazing song doing so well.

ooo Kings of Leon #1 ey! :o I didn't expect that. Would be nice to see it go to #1 on the main chart also.

I can't help but feel it's popularity might decline pretty quickly though after the sudden influx of downloads coming from e-mails from the mailing list haha.

What kind of similar thing?

Edit: In response to McFly post...

If that's true... Or was Rooney meaning as soon as the "sudden influx of downloads coming from e-mails from the mailing list" comes from McFly... if so then i Apologise  Coz I read it as if KoL were doing the mailing list thing and was gonna drop as soon as all that hype died down etc...

Do you mean Kings of leon by any chance because its a great grower of a song :D

Yes, I do.

So pleased Sex on Fire is doing well.

Kings of Leon deserve success. I agree with RFC, having Biffy and KoL in the top 10 is great! :D

I wish powter could do well but the stupid people are taking so much time glossing over old tacky tunes or something that are in the way which are stopping from him to do well get it right :(

It wasn't sort of like a McFly tactic, it was just saying that Sex on Fire was avaliable to download from iTunes, which is fair enough as i'm sure lots of artists do the same. This is where I reckon they might have got a large lead over their nearest competitors from, but it's a great song with mass appeal, which is the main reason why I think it's doing so well...
