Posted September 1, 200816 yr I was VERY bored. After a pretty much diabolical year for major releases and the such the last quarter of 2008 is set to be one of the most explosive in recent years with many established acts and big name stars returning with new albums. The album market in particular has been awful so far this year with only really Duffy and Coldplay achieving decentish sales considering we're 8 months now. I was bored anyway so thought I'd look at some of the big releases on their way. :o September Pussycat Dolls - Doll Domination Ne-Yo - Year Of The Gentleman Metallica - Death Magnetic Kings Of Leon - Only By The Night Plain White T's - Big Bad World Will Young - Let It Go James Morrison - Songs For You, Truths For Me October Oasis - Dig Out Your Soul Keane - Perfect Symmetry Funeral For A Friend - Memory And Humanity Kaiser Chiefs - Off With Their Heads Snow Patrol - One Hundred Million Suns AC/DC - Black Ice Leon Jackson - Right Now P!nk - Funhouse Sugababes - 6th Studio Album Anastacia - Heavy Rotation Bloc Party - Intimacy Celine Dion - My Love: Ultimate Collection Jennifer Lopez - Greatest Hits Katie Melua - The Collection November Dido - Safe Trip Home Fall Out Boy - Folie A Deux Beyonce - Virtuoso Intellect Girls Aloud - 5th Studio Album Timbaland - Shock Value II Christina Aguilera - Best Of Foo Fighters - Best Of The Killers - Day + Age Stereophonics - A Decade In The Sun: The Best Of U2 – No Line On The Horizon Possibilities: Jem - TBA Jamie Cullum - TBA Il Divo - TBA Craig David - Best Of Kelly Clarkson - TBA Red Hot Chili Peppers - Blast Whitney Houston Razorlight - TBA Britney Spears - TBA I know there's been threads already on this but I thought I'd get all the titles together in one and have discussion on who is going to have the best comeback/who'll flop etc.

September Pussycat Dolls - Doll Domination Ne-Yo - Year Of The Gentleman - If you're expecting things like 'Closer' then you will be disappointed  October Snow Patrol - One Hundred Million Suns P!nk - Funhouse Sugababes - 6th Studio Album - Maybe... But depends on the 2nd single as the first single is rubbish :( November Girls Aloud - 5th Studio Album - Is that really the name of the album? Timbaland - Shock Value II Christina Aguilera - Best Of The Killers - Day + Age Possibilities: Kelly Clarkson - TBA - Seeing as Britney has pushed hers back a bit... this is now my MOST anticiapated :w00t: Britney Spears - TBA - Unfortunately won't be released until Early 2009 i don't think...
September 1, 200816 yr Loads of realeseas that im really exited about, there havent really been that many fantastic albums this year.
September 1, 200816 yr Loads i'm looking forward to too, but i've a feeling some of them will be $h!t. I don't want him to, but i've a feeling James Morrison will flop tbh. Very intrigued to hear it] Christina Aguilera - Best Of [Could go either way] Foo Fighters - Best Of [Will be massive. Very big band] The Killers - Day + Age [Huge] Stereophonics - A Decade In The Sun: The Best Of [i'd imagine this to be big as well] U2 – No Line On The Horizon [Will do well but nowhere near as massive as expected]

September 1, 200816 yr September Pussycat Dolls - Doll Domination- High performance singles, album sales generally low. Ne-Yo - Year Of The Gentleman- Same as above. Metallica - Death Magnetic- Huge initial sales (and even bigger on the illegal downloading front) Kings Of Leon - Only By The Night- Large-ish initial sales. This is where it helps to be bummed by R1 :P Plain White T's - Big Bad World FLOP FLOP FLOP FLOP FLOP, though i loved Hate :( Will Young - Let It Go Dunno James Morrison - Songs For You, Truths For Me FLOP! Too mediocre comeback October Oasis - Dig Out Your Soul Large initial sales, if released around mid November there would be huge sustained sales because it'll be bought for all the middle aged men. Keane - Perfect Symmetry Dunno Funeral For A Friend - Memory And Humanity Dunno Kaiser Chiefs - Off With Their Heads Same way The Feeling's comeback went. Snow Patrol - One Hundred Million Suns Hopefully huge :D AC/DC - Black Ice Same way Metallica goes, though i like AC/DC Leon Jackson - Right Now Cowell will be dissapointing, but 200k+ first week sales nonetheless. P!nk - Funhouse Hopefully a hit :cheer: Sugababes - 6th Studio Album Poor album sales :( Anastacia - Heavy Rotation Flop  Bloc Party - Intimacy Not huge on the sales front. -_- Celine Dion - My Love: Ultimate Collection FLOP! Katie Melua - The Collection Flop November Dido - Safe Trip Home Not selling nearly as much as the last two Fall Out Boy - Folie A Deux Flop Beyonce - Virtuoso Intellect Flop? Maybe? Good on the single sides of things no doubt though. Girls Aloud - 5th Studio Album Will it beat the sugababes? Timbaland - Shock Value II Flop because of the dead sound. Christina Aguilera - Best Of Its a best of, i don't have good feelings for best ofs this year. Foo Fighters - Best Of See Above The Killers - Day + Age Could go either way. Stereophonics - A Decade In The Sun: The Best Of U2 – No Line On The Horizon More sustained sales for dad's christmas pressies. And aren't Guns n Roses meant to be releasing finally  No matter how many albums are released, only a certain amount can be successful. Hopefully some of my favourite acts will wait till next spring.
September 1, 200816 yr Britney isn't coming back this year, just to clear that up :P JLo's GH is no longer scheduled for 08 either, and Timbo's sophomore album has been put back to 09 too.
