Do people think the xfactor song will be number one next week too or will it really drop off?

Sales will decline dramatically next week, but with sales of about 350k this week, they will surely sell about 100k again next week, so they should be #1 for one or two more weeks I reckon.

^^ damn lol

I thought GA might have a chance of going back up, but oh well, its all about sales now.

I reckon GA will do very well next week with downloads of the promise from the album.

I'm dead excited about GA's album after seeing pinks success after a massive no1 single and what its done for her album.

Normally this should happen, I guess though they will repeat the song on X Factor at the weekend, so it might not decline as dramatically. I still hope Leona or someone else could take number 1 next week. We will have a busy week next week, so without this Hero song I don't think GA could go back to number 1.

So does anyone know why No Air is up again?

I don't think there is any special reason. Maybe the other songs have declined in sales more than No Air, so it gone up surprisingly. And also the lack of new entries.

It'll be interesting to see what happens to leona next week. Forgive me is only no9 on the irish itunes and isnt her xfactor performance not until mid Nov?

I think she might miss no1 with this one. I'm not feeling a buzz with it atall.

My money is on for the X Factor single to stay #1 for another fortnite, or until TT release their new single.

Because Cherry pickers picked and downloaded that track from the Annual 2009 album ^_^ so sales got combined :D

Don't forget Britney :heehee: I think Britney will actually sell more than Take That :o (Singles)

i think they could have a decent first week too now :o though whether they can be #1 i dunno as pink will still be selling strong.

also razorlight can't be ruled out of the #1 spot however they might do a "kaiser chiefs" and have a low first week.

I still think Britney is going to miss the #1 :P

Blimey, so Sugababes have lasted just 1 week in the top 20. Their chart run is worse then Mcfly's which is just awrful. I'd dread to think what headaches the boardroom are having, probably only the BBC are having more headaches at the moment

Snow Patrol slug it out with Pink for top slot

Friday October 31, 2008

The battle for this week’s number one album is heating up, with Universal pulling out all the stops to try to get Snow Patrol’s Hundred Million Suns to overtake midweek top-seller Funhouse by Pink.

SonyBMG imprint Laface had seen sales of more than 83,000 units of the Pink set by the close of play yesterday, while the Fiction act were lagging behind with 70,000 sales.

However, a strong TV ad campaign, rumoured to have set Universal back £100,000, is being launched to try to capitalise on the weekend shoppers and fans of Snow Patrol are being tempted to buy the album along with a ticket for next year’s arena tour through a package on the band’s website.

The 13-date tour takes in most major cities around the UK and Ireland and will be the band’s largest outing to date.

Although tickets do not go on general sale until November 7, fans were being offered pre-sale tickets priced £30 (£32.50 in London) plus booking fee of £3.00/£3.25.

Anyone buying a ticket from www.snowpartrol.com today and tomorrow is also being offered a limited ticket and album bundle priced £38.99 in total, with no booking fee, or £41.49 in London
