The band's early efforts brought a stadium-size presence to post-punk, with Bono's expressive vocals and the Edge's distinct guitar lines interacting seamlessly with the rhythm section of bassist Adam Clayton and drummer Larry Mullen, Jr. In 1987, U2 broke through to superstardom with THE JOSHUA TREE, a grand culmination of their '80s sound. In the 1990s, however, the band very purposefully deflated that epic image, simultaneously adding ambient, dance, and electronica touches on 1991's ACHTUNG BABY. Mining that vein for much of the decade, U2 kicked off the 21st century with a triumphant return to form that was embraced by new and longtime fans alike. - HMV Video here: track listing 1. March 1, 200917 yr I cannot stand the way Reggie gushes so much over certain acts, this U2 love is so unjustified and typical Radio 1 arse-licking.
March 1, 200917 yr Author Eurgh - U2 have lost it :( they will so have the #1 album next week though!

March 1, 200917 yr Very typical song by U2 and very average one as well On the other hard, Gives You Hell is pleasant, simple but nice :) not enough for a Top 10 though
March 1, 200917 yr This song is seriously AMAZING! I do prefer their older stuff, but their new stff is ok too :dancing:
March 1, 200917 yr Eurgh - U2 have lost it :( they will so have the #1 album next week though! I agree, I was shocked when Jonathon Ross joked that everyone prefers Coldplay now but after they performed the current single and a song from their new album I think it was pretty justified. I'm not that familiar with their work but they can't have always been this bad.
