I dont think the funeral is gonna have that bigger effect really - not that I want to sound direspectful, but the hype surrounding his death is fading, I reckon by Thursday MITM will have slipped back alot. Number 1 this week will be between La Roux and Cascada IMO. La Roux's got her album version climbing up the charts and could therefore still topple Cascada's bid for the top spot.

 

I said after he died that I dont think he'll get number 1 single - However would see a bigger impact in the album charts - which is true as he got the number 1 album.

 

I'll be very surprised if the funeral has a massive impact and see the sales of MITM rise

This is a forum talking about music charts and sales. Michael Jackson was one of the biggest music stars in terms of sales and chart success around the world. FACT. Nothing else matters in the context of this forum IMO. No amount of contraversy will erase Michael Jackson's achievements.

 

So would you have the same reaction to Gary Glitter? Now I appreciate MJ was in a different league, but Glitter was successful in his heyday. Should that overshadow everything else that's gone in his life?

I really hope that Michael Jackson will re claim the number 1 spot again with Man in the mirror.
