I thought the final was a bit poor but the order in which it finished was great - i liked 80% of the top 10 which i more i can say for the rest of the final! I've noticed that the winner only got one 12 (from me), is that normal? :unsure: I'll definitely be sending something a bit more inspired next time....

(What I wanted? - No.) The only song as to why I can't see why/how it did so well is LE Kid :( (Sorry Tom, nothing against you) I thought it was awful. But we can't all have it the way we want :P But I'm happy to see tom get his highest finish to date and I'll be looking forward to going to Numayania for the first time ever :yahoo:

you came 5th, and Mdice also got 12's from Greenfroze and USJ :P but were consistently point scoring all round hence the win

Right, I've just told Tom this and hope the others won't mind, but here's the clear-up on autoqualification:

 

If there are EVEN participants: Mdice and Numayania autoqualify, but if Numayania don't wish to AQ but Mdice do, then Numayania can hand it to one of their co-hosts. There will not be 4 AQers in the event of even participants due to sheer numbers.

 

If there are ODD participants: Numayania (or co-host of their choice) autoqualify. Depending on numbers, Mdice and Eledan can autoqualify, but it isn't guaranteed as they have passed on hosting duties and as such have passed on guaranteed autoqualification.

 

If both Numayania (and ONLY Numayania, due to the amount of potential co-hosts) and Mdice are both fine with not auto-qualifying: we make history and have the first ever BJSC where every finalist is there on merit of entry! :w00t: Obviously I don't expect this one due to the temptation of autoqualification, and I've let Tom know I don't mind at all if he wants to AQ, but from an idealist's perspective due to the amount of participants this is my favoured option :P

I can't see Shakira/Cobra Starship getting to No.1...it seems that Shakira only gets a UK No.1 if it's a really MASSIVE song, and then even Whenever Wherever was stopped...I'm sure something will stand in her way and it will end up being more of a Don't Bother than a Hips Don't Lie

I don't think the country makes a blind bit of difference to the outcome tbh. However, with some countries having a better history - Mdice, FSR Rontvia, Kopecka for example - they are likely to get noticed slightly more. If lesser known countries want to get more noticed then they should spam the national final threads tbh and do it that way! In a way, the countries that have been in this longer have sort of "earned" the right to get noticed more than say someone who joined in April this year or whatever.
