Doe's anyone know what the Scissor Sisters are up to.

It's been ages since we heard anything from them.

Are they working on new material?

Yes they're working on a new album which will due for March next year (according to wiki). It's described as Supersexual & Sleazy :o

Can't wait to hear their new stuff. I loved Ta-Dah (even if I was alone!) and it's just been too long
I hope they don't suffer from major floppage due to the fact it was like 2006 when they released their last album. It better be good considering it's taken so long!

Warner Chappell Music has signed the catalogue of multi-million selling group Scissor Sisters.

Comprised of Jake Shears and Ana Matronic as vocalists, Scott ‘Babydaddy’ Hoffman as multi-instrumentalist and Del Marquis as lead guitar/bassist, Scissor Sisters first broke onto the scene in the early 2000s with UK hits Laura, Comfortably Numb and Take Your Mama. To date, their No.1 self-titled debut album has sold 2,785,346 copies according to Official Charts Company data. Its 2006 follow-up, Ta-Dah, meanwhile, has shifted 1,495,003. They released two more Top 5 albums in 2010 with Night Work (No.2) and 2012’s Magic Hour (No.4).

Their best-selling single in the UK is their 2006 No.1 I Don’t Feel Like Dancin’, which is on sales of 1,155,477.

Speaking about their new catalogue deal, Shears said: “Baby Daddy and I are really proud of all the music we’ve created together and couldn’t be happier to have Warner Chappell Music looking after our songs going forward. The worldwide team have some really awesome and ambitious ideas of how they’ll reinvigorate our catalogue and we can’t wait to see what they do.”

Baby Daddy added: “The Scissor Sisters songs still connect with so many fans all over the world, and we’re so excited to have found a home with the worldwide acclaim of Warner Chappell Music. We’re stoked to announce that the incredible team at Warner Chappell will be continuing the Scissor Sisters journey along with us.”

Emily Foreman, creative manager at Warner Chappell Music UK, added: “Scissor Sisters are such an iconic name in dance and pop culture and their early songs still sound as fresh and innovative as they did when they first came out. I’m honoured that we’ll represent these classic records at Warner Chappell Music and I’m looking forward to finding ways to connect their songs with new audiences.”

In more Scissor Sisters news, the group have also appointed Fascination Management as their legacy managers, who have enjoyed extraordinary success with the likes of Jessie Ware, plus Steps’ epic reunion.

Peter Loraine said: “It was an honour to be asked by the band to caretake, nurture and develop their business. Their catalogue of music and visuals is first class and has so much potential. I worked with the band during my years at Polydor, so to be reunited professionally is a dream come true.”

I did love Scissor Sisters when they first came out, their first album was one of my favourites of 2004. Hopefully some expanded vinyl reissues would be forthcoming cause I missed out on the half speed mastered vinyl they did a couple of years ago. Good that Peter Loraine is looking after them as legacy manager as well!

Their debut album is very much my favourite album so I'd be very happy for an expanded edition. Need to have Electrobix on streaming too
Loved their debut album, it was domething different ar the time. Can't see them doing new material again though.
I think there are moments of greatness on all of the albums. Their debut was consistently good, the follow up felt a little bloated and was a worse version of album one - albeit I Don't Feel Like Dancing was a great single and I still like Kiss Me Off. Night Work is hugely underrated and is probably their second best in terms of being a full album experience whilst Magic Hour gifted us the sublime Somewhere, a track that is my most listened to of theirs.
Loved the first two albums, chocka with great tracks, with more on the debut than the follow-up. They were a great band and fabulous in concert (saw them twice) essentially bringing the sound of music of the 70's into the 00's and appealed across the board because of that. In the UK. They meant nothing in the USA, a bit too gay and retro for mainstream radio of the time, while the gayness was a positive bonus in the UK. Party-time central!
Wish they would get back together and release new music! Their first album is one of my faves ever and Night Work is so underrated too its excellent their second best easily. Both Ta-Dah and The Magic Hour have great highs but lack consistency/

It's officially 20 years today since their debut album was released!

If there is one of many albums I would love to see get the full reissue treatment on vinyl etc this year, this album would be one of them. Jo Whiley has incidentally been playing songs from it on her Radio 2 show all this week and it's made me get my copy out again. Immaculate record!

I was very late to their debut (only heard it in full for the first time last year when I took the plunge with their whole discography!!) but it was worth the wait, love Night Work as well

fingers crossed for an anniversary vinyl pressing indeed...
