Or 'De Mol' in Dutch, there was also a Dutch media tycoon called John De Mol which then became the Endemol production company.
  3. That's a bit of a 60s nostalgia style tune from Mari Wilson! Reason is a good song but very of its time production-wise! Might have gave it a few points but forgot to put it in my votes as it wasn't on the #8's spotify playlist.
  4. That Bucks Fizz song sounds influential for Flying Pickets! It also sounds very Carpenters. And Mimi Webb! What a throwback! Remember her?! I prefer her more upbeat pop songs.
  5. Toyah and Kanye (+Shirley Bassey) songs the best of that bunch for me. I like some Depeche Mode but I Feel You is a bit too cool and indie for me!

Thought they were independent with Blueworld Records.
  7. 'I'd Rather Jack' is iconic, if only they knew how popular Fleetwood Mac were now on the streaming chart! They call out heavy metal too as dated but soon after Iron Maiden would have a #1 single lol. 'Be Right There' the loudest of the metallic knocking on bin-lids future house phase. Funny because such loudness to wake you up came from someone called 'Sleepy Tom'. I do like the song a bit though.

    A f**king purple floor, man!
  9. Top 5 Gary Numan - We Take Mystery (To Bed) Yazoo - Don't Go Visage - Night Train The Steve Miller Band - Abracadabra Cheri - Murphy's Law ------------------------------------------ Odyssey - Inside Out Hot Chocolate - It Started With A Kiss Dollar - Videotheque The Clash - Rock The Casbah Donna Summer - Love Is In Control (Finger On The Trigger) Stevie Wonder - Do I Do Japan - I Second That Emotion Dexys Midnight Runners & The Emerald Express - Come On Eileen The Gary Numan song is my favourite here! Great mix of synths and bass guitar! 'Don't Go' I have liked for a long time, it stands out at the time, the big drum sound would become generic and be impersonated for many mostly inferior 80s songs. Abracadabra one of the catchiest songs ever and have liked it for a long time! Cheri - Murphy's Law is wickedly fun and has a great bassline. Inside Out is dreamy and has a great vocal! First discovered it in a remix. Shout out too to Hot Chocolate's best song, I like the Vangelis style production and accusatory 'You don't remember me do you?'. And Videotheque and The Clash's catchiest song too. Love Is On The Trigger is a good dance tune, and I also like Stevie Wonder's 'Do I Do' famous for the catchy sample in a 2001 Ja Rule hit 'Live It Up'. Japan doing a cover of a Smokie Robinson song is interesting because of the very different vocal style to the original.
  10. Didn't notice the Jax Jones style product parody single cover art for the Shaft song until now!
  11. I don't know a lot of these songs. Didn't know Bloc Party did Eurodance but thats a great discovery. Voted for Taio, I much prefer his song 'Break Your Heart'.

I wish Gone Gone Gone was gonfi-gone!
  13. I remember both that and Moony - Dove (I'll be Loving You)! :) Both Italian acts with lovely house-pop songs!
  14. I reckon 'Goodnight Girl' is deffo influenced by Beautiful South - Song For Whoever without the humour! It's a nice enough song anyway! Everybody In The Place is very noisy! The fairground music effects are good.

There were some awful ones in 2025, the diarrhoea upset stomach song one, the Sure whole body deodorant one with the rude body part names, the who gives a cr*p ad - Cr*p is still a swear word!
