December 22, 200915 yr There is a list as long as my arm tbh Now Im That Bitch - Livvi Franc Its Alright Its Okay - Ashley Tisdale Shark In The Water - VV BrownHOW did I forget these?! :drama: 2009 is an awful year for the flops :(
December 22, 200915 yr Alphabeat - The Spell (Deserved better than scraping into the top 20) Mika - Rain (Not a great song, but better than it's top 80 position!!) Jordin Sparks -Battlefield & SOS (Shoulda been top 10 hits) Will Young - Hopes & Fears (Again, didn't do too well in the chart, but at least the album is selling!!) These are just a few records that come to mind..
December 22, 200915 yr It pains me that Jade Ewen - My Man not only FLOPPED HARD, but it obvs flopped so much no one has remembered to name it in this list! Probably my favourite song of the year, was really looking forward to her album :(
December 22, 200915 yr It pains me that Jade Ewen - My Man not only FLOPPED HARD, but it obvs flopped so much no one has remembered to name it in this list! Probably my favourite song of the year, was really looking forward to her album :(I think the only reason it flopped is because ALL promo was cancelled that week, due to all the Sugababes fiasco etc... Had that not happened, she would have had a Top 20 hit I think. All without Radio 1 too.
December 22, 200915 yr I don't know what happened to Kelly Clarkson - Already Gone.... ...but it is a great song! One of my favourites by Clarkson. I hope it charts again.
December 22, 200915 yr Jordin Sparks probably does deserve a mention but more for the album than the singles. Both singles must have sold decently enough, especially Battlefiedl but the album has bombed horribly. In the US aswell. Album #3 better be a sucsess...
December 22, 200915 yr Alphabeat - The Spell (it was such a fun song, i thought it was gonna be way bigger, deserved better than #20) Booty Luv - Say It (thought this song would be a surefire top 10 for them, but they let it go too long and when it finally was released everyone either had it or was bored of it) Sugababes - About A Girl (ok i know this wasnt a flop compared to the others but i think a lot of people myself included were expecting at least top 5, #8 is a little dissapointing and the song didnt stick around very long either, if it stayed around longer i probably wouldn't list it but 6 weeks is pretty bad especially given the fact this is one of the best tracks they've ever done. Ashley Tisdale - The whole "Guilty Pleasure" era, this is for both US and UK, i know she's disney and stuff but this album was incredible, almost every song had single potential, i didnt even like her, but when my friend gave me her album i was hooked. Such a shame it did so poorly. Edited December 22, 200915 yr by Propilot87
December 22, 200915 yr Little Boots. So was to suppose to be the biggest star of 2009 but became one of BIG flops of 2009. Critics sometimes don't get things right. Or alternatively - they got it right, but the record buying public didn't? :P
December 22, 200915 yr Royksopp and Robyn - The Girl In The Robot The White Lies - Farewell The Fareground, To Lose My Life and Death all deserved much better than they did September - Until I Die Sneaky Sound System too UFO and It's Not My Problam Edited December 22, 200915 yr by GAV
December 22, 200915 yr Backstreet Boys - Straight Through My Heart Mariah Carey - I Want To Know What Love Is (I wonder why Obsession wasn't released in the UK :()
December 22, 200915 yr Some songs that went top 50 but missed the top 40 and didn't deserve to: Melanie Fiona - Give It To Me Right (#41 - can't believe nobody mentioned this yet!) Vagabond - Don't Wanna Run No More (#41) Chicane - Hiding All The Stars (#42) You Me At Six - Kiss And Tell (#42) Keri Hilson - Energy (#43) Kano - Rock N Roller (#44) Tiësto and Sneaky Sound System - I Will Be Here (#44) Röyksopp - Happy Up Here (#44 - I have deduced that the UK don't like acts with an umlaut in their name) Chase & Status ft. Kano - Against All Odds (#45) Fightstar - Mercury Summer (#46) Lazee ft. Neverstore - Hold On (#46) Ercola ft. Daniella - Every Word (#47) Kyla ft. Crazy Cousinz - Do You Mind? (#48) Friendly Fires - Skeleton Boy (#48) Hockey - Song Away (#49) Mpho - Box N Locks (#49) Muse - Undisclosed Desires (#49) The Prodigy - Invaders Must Die (#49 ) Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Zero (#49 - probably my favourite non-The Prodigy song of the year now I think about it) MSTRKRFT ft. John Legend - Heartbreaker (#50) Maxïmo Park - The Kids Are Sick Again (#50) Snow Patrol - Crack The Shutters (#50 - their best song imo) Edited December 22, 200915 yr by BrayFish
December 22, 200915 yr Mariah Carey - I wonder why Obsession wasn't released in the UK :( Because it's an utterly catastrophic song!
December 22, 200915 yr Okay here's one - not from this year but relevant because it's prominently sampled in (and provides the title of) 'Whatcha Say' which is currently charting - Imogen Heap - Hide and Seek http://www.last.fm/music/Imogen+Heap/_/Hide+and+Seek I don't know if it charted anywhere in the UK but it certainly wasn't top 40.
December 22, 200915 yr Because it's an utterly catastrophic song! Hahaha! :teresa: It could have been at least Top 10...
December 22, 200915 yr Muse - Undisclosed Desires Agnes - I need You Now Little Boots - Earthquake Shame. P.s I reckon Alphabeat will turn it around next year.
December 22, 200915 yr I'm most disappointed about Ciara - Work. I loved that song, oh and Mini Viva :(
December 22, 200915 yr I was disapointed that Ladyhawke didn't have much success... I know that most of her singles were released in 2008(some were rereleased this year), I thought she would do well. Quicksand and shark in the water also did surprisingly bad
December 22, 200915 yr Hockey - Song Away Shakira - Did It Again Asher Roth - I Love College Brooke Hogan - Hey Yo/The Redemption Eva Simons - Silly Boy Lilly Allen - Who'd Have Known special mention of BoA and her whole US break
December 22, 200915 yr Arctic Monkeys-Cornerstone. Don't even know where it ended up (not top 75 though) It was a great track and had quite a bit of airplay on Radio 1, I just don't know what went wrong.
