August 18, 201016 yr gooddelta, yep, Inna's UK Radio Edit is horrible, but AATW know everything. :P And I'm not sure that Stromae would be top-40, he's falling drastically now. It's quite scary as #41 could be his peak now. Very true  It had better not be! I can only hope as the song's moved up the playlist, more people start to hear/download it. It was played as many times last week as a C-listed song, except to a bigger audience on the morning show than it will be getting this week played on an afternoon show with a third of the listeners. As soon as it's all over every show, it can surely go top 20 at least?
August 18, 201016 yr Author Shall email him :magic: What are the chances of another duffed up chart for tomorrow :D
August 18, 201016 yr I'm just happy that Ash got prime time Radio 1 airplay. Should help "Embers" and the A-Z campaign was mentioned briefly too!
August 18, 201016 yr I'm sure Radio 1 know there's a problem with their chart update, I think they're just choosing not to mention it, which is what I would've also done if I were them.
August 18, 201016 yr Ash should be guaranteed a top 75 hit, and kylie is #30 today up from #31 yesterday which is great.
August 18, 201016 yr It looks like the only winners from this sorry affair is Ash. Great going, you Downpatrick Diamonds.
August 18, 201016 yr I'm really hoping that 'Z' will give them a top 40 hit! I do hope that iTunes don't submit sales all week. 1) It would be hilarious. 2) we'd be able to see just how much of the market share they do actually have, instead of just constant guesswork.

I'm mixed about this. It would be good, because Eminem and Rihanna would probably be number-one, which I want them to be, but it would be annoying when it comes to sales. A lot of songs that I love at the moment (Airplanes, We No Speak Americano, etc.) will have a chunk of their sales missing, which would be annoying. Also, while I do want Love the Way You Lie to be number-one, I would feel really sorry for Roll Deep, seeing as they'll clearly sell the most this week.

August 18, 201016 yr This is true a lot of artists will have sales missing, but it would be hilarious to see it happen Plus, things like this probably happen often, but with places that contribute such a small fraction of the sales that nobody notices and/or cares, but if it does all come to the worst, this would certainly be memorable!
August 18, 201016 yr This happened in 1999 when both 'Coffee And TV' by Blur and 'Secret Smile' by Semisonic missed out on the top 10 due to "sales data missing". However I'll be really surprised if iTunes data isn't included by the end of the week.
August 18, 201016 yr Yup, unfortunately  by this time iTunes has always been providing its sales at least by Sunday.
August 19, 201016 yr Oh dear, the one with missing data is being played, they really shouldn't have bothered at all if it's not correct. Now Reggie will claim that Eminem/Rihanna were the 'midweek' update #1 on Sunday when Roll Deep are almost certainly ahead realistically... The OCC would never do send an incorrect chart for the Sunday show so why for the Wednesday update, it's still supposed to be official? :lol:Part of the problem is that the midweek charts are compiled so early in the day. Whatever time the midweeks are compiled they are released to subscribers at 8.30am (I'm guessing they must be compiled by 7am at the latest) whereas the proper chart (on a Sunday) isn't compiled until about noon and issued to subscribers until about 2pm. This allows the OCC more time to sort out any problems plus if data is missing from the Saturday for any one particular retailer then adjustments are made to the chart to compensate for the missing data. This isn't done with the midweeks charts. One of the reasons why for many years the OCC were reluctant to make the midweek charts publicly available was because the midweeks do have problems with things like missing data. If iTunes data was missing I suspect the OCC would not issue a revised midweek chart to Radio 1. To do so would show how much iTunes influences the chart and due to confidentiality agreements the OCC aren't allowed to do this. Of course it will be revealed anyway when the (hopefully) next midweek update is issued in a few hours time. I know the OCC have provided Radio 1 with revised midweek charts in recent weeks but this has been to add in sales for one song and not sales for all records in the chart.
August 19, 201016 yr Hope we have a real update this morning. I wanna see Roll Deep officialy number 1. Their song is not brilliant but still better than the strongest contestants.

There's no way the final chart could be issued *without* iTunes data - that would be farcical. It'll leave some disappointed Em & Ri fans though, who won't have realised they were never *really* #1 at all...

However I'll be really surprised if iTunes data isn't included by the end of the week. That was absolutely criminal. Neither are from the type of genre I tend to enjoy but both were bonafide classics which are still played regularly now. Coffee and TV was probably my favourite Blur single. Good for Madonna and Jennifer Lopez though who both clawed another week in the top ten due to the missing data. Just looking at that week's top 40 on Chart Stats, actually, there were some real classics in there - as well as the aformentioned pair there was 9PM (Till I Come), That Don't Impress Me Much, Gouryella (trance classic), Kiss Me, I Want It That Way, No Scrubs and of course, the legendary Swedish schlager anthem Take Me To Your Heaven by Charlotte Nilsson (pre Catwoman Perrelli) :funky: 1999 was fantastic
August 19, 201016 yr Author I've quite looking forward to another duffed up update today :magic: As I reckon all the sales are going to be added on after Saturday night trading now, I can't see it happening before Saturday. Sunday's chart will be totally different to the mids
