August 17, 201015 yr It's marketed well. They've basically tried to pretend the previous flop album never happened.
August 17, 201015 yr Iron Maiden very deserved No. 1 album, it's excellent I don't get all this about The Saturdays 8-track not being a full-album though - lot's of bands release albums with only 8 tracks? OK, they're longer tracks than the 3-minute bubblegum pop The Saturdays are releasing, but all the same... Edited August 17, 201015 yr by ags_rule
August 17, 201015 yr Wham - Make it Big, was 8 track I think (or Fantastic). I prefer shorter albums to those with 15+ tracks.
August 17, 201015 yr Nice to see Ash top 30 in the update, hopefully by Sunday they'll have their 2nd top 75 hit from this era, although if they're this high by Tuesday the sales this week must be shockingly low.
August 17, 201015 yr Wow at Iron Maiden but no surprises I guess- Rock legends :D I think Roll Deep will get number 1 tomorrow and its lead will extend, Emannas chance at number 1 are looking less and less likely now Good to see Chase and Status top 10- I just hope it doesnt fall
August 17, 201015 yr Go Iron Maiden best rock band EVER  And OMG at Rihanna at least being #1 midweeks :D
August 17, 201015 yr I am delighted aswell to see Ash top 30 but sadly they will fall, like you brett butler i hope this will get them another top 75 hit, i would love to see their a-z album return to the charts but i cant see it happening sadly.
August 17, 201015 yr Wham - Make it Big, was 8 track I think (or Fantastic). I prefer shorter albums to those with 15+ tracks. it is 8 tracks with 2 of them being on their last album, so basically 6 new tracks. they are basically ripping off their fans getting them to buy an half arsed album with tracks on it the fans already have.
August 17, 201015 yr IMPORTANT NEWS...THE MIDWEEKS DON'T INCLUDE SALES FROM APPLE..According to Kev_Kev who is usually the master all sales and the chart. It would explain why RiRi and Eminem are also at the top.. Taking that into account The Sats could well be at #2 with Apple sales included, as they are only 700 copies behind. Source.. Kev_Kev twitter states the following: "Midweek chart today is missing sales from Apple :-/ but has Headlines at #3 about 700 copies behind #2 (Eminem), and Iron Maiden at #1. "

August 17, 201015 yr I might be misunderstanding this, but if that's true, wouldn't this mean that today's mid-weeks aren't including like 80% of the sales then? yep, you're quite right! I don't think though The Sats could be in front of the #2 album with the Apple sales included, as digital album sales are very-very low! (around 10-15% of total sales)
August 17, 201015 yr yep, you're quite right! I don't think though The Sats could be in front of the #2 album with the Apple sales included, as digital album sales are very-very low! (around 10-15% of total sales) Who knows..They may have a shot as Headlines has been on Pre-order for a long while and it's been at #1 since it's release definitely a few more sales anyway.
August 17, 201015 yr Author IMPORTANT NEWS...THE MIDWEEKS DON'T INCLUDE SALES FROM APPLE..According to Kev_Kev who is usually the master all sales and the chart. " That sounds about right, it would answer why Ash is so high, and the 600 units difference between the top 3. And the lack of climbers in the chart, hence the update. As for the albums it shouldn't have that much effect to be honest, #3 for the Sats album looks about right, digital album sales are very low, when compared to the singles. ======= Chase & Status could be top 5, with Inna and ONO just outside the top 10. Got a funny feeling MW will post a duff update tomorrow morning, while Radio 1 will have the correct chart in the afternoon.
August 17, 201015 yr Great for the Saturdays. Hopefully it can stay top 3. Shame Enrique has fallen out of the top 20. At least ILI will sell more than 'The Club Is Alive' (also known as 'that piece of $h!t'). ^_^ Other than the fact that only 600 copies separates the top 3, this week's chart is rather dull hence my absence from BJ the past few days.
August 17, 201015 yr 6k for The Sats on the first day of release is awful. If that's all they're getting (and thats all the hardcore fans buying it the minute it's out) now then I can see it falling hard now. :( I love The Sats but 6K???
August 17, 201015 yr Is it just today's midweek that has missed the Apple sales, or is a regular occurence?
August 17, 201015 yr LTWYL will equal this week and beat next week the 2010 record for weeks in the top 10. OMG also has 9 weeks and LTWYL is heading into its 9th. She Said, Rude Boy and Empire State Of Mind (Part II) Broken Down all have 8, and 8 of Starstrukk's 10 were in 2010. A couple more have 7 - Pass Out, California Gurls, Fireflies, Airplanes (heading into its 8th this week), and then We No Speak Americano is heading into its 7th this week. Apart from those 10 songs (11 after this week), every top 10 singles this year has spent 6 or fewer weeks there. Actually 'Rude Boy' spent 9 weeks in the Top 10 :P 10-6-3-2-2-3-4-6-8 :D
