I hope Take That breaks Oasis' record, the 3rd Oasis album was a disappointment & Progress is a brilliant album.

I was genuinely surprised at how good it was, they've not banged out any old "this will do" stuff, you can tell they've laboured to make it top notch & getting producer of the moment Stuart Price in to produce was a good move.

I've not bought a Take That album since "Everything Changes", I hope Robbie stays with them for a few albums as I want more of this!

The Times review gave it 5 stars (out of 5) which is REALLY rare.

My mate tried to get it from Asda yesterday and couldn't see it anywhere so hopefully these aren't all front loaded sales!

Long may they rule (the world).

Was hoping for an actual report.

But amazing for TT. WOW.

Great for Rihanna.

Would be nice to see where McFly and Shayne actually are. Hopefully we'll get an update later.

Absolutly fantastic sales for Take That and i hope they keep selling by the bucketload, i knew the album would do well but i dint expect over 200,000 on its first day.

Just did a quick calc on SuBo selling 30k on 1st day and 103k by the end of the week and on that basis (yes, i know all factors won't be the same) then Take That would sell 807k this week!!

The bigger the first day sales are the less likely it is to follow the pattern of an album that sold only 30K first day. I think at best we can expect three times the first day sales - so 705,000 copies. However due to this album being the biggest pre-order in history - it will be very front-loaded so it may not even make 700K - either way it will deffo sell over 500,000 and very likely over 600,000.

I did the same based on the Circus, which had sold 133k on 1st day and 432 490 at the end of the week.

Progress would sell 764 000. It may be possible. We'll know soon!

jls are lucky the release date was moved forward

Lool, I actually think Take That will beat JLS next week.

Major sales not just for Take That, but for Rihanna! :o will this be her highest week? (Sorry if it's been answered)
1 Take That 235,000

2 Rihanna 34,000

someone mentions later Rihanna at 58K

which one is right and which one is wrong?

Take That could break the fastest selling album record!

What was the record amount sold?

Wouldn't be suprised if McFly aren't top 10. Great album but a lot of people did get it for free.

Still waiting for mine in the post. <_<

Yep Nearly all the fanbase(well the really hardcore ones) had the album free and yes it's a brilliant album

Sales info from MW is correct, the rest take with a pinch of salt, the member has not backed up where his source has come from yet.

I got my copy in Asda yesterday morning about 10am and the same thing was happening. Plus nearly every trolley I nosed into had a copy!

What's surprising is that it's £10 almost everywhere, except I think HMV had a one day £8 deal. Whereas The Circus 'only' sold 133,000 in comparison but I definitely remember buying my copy for £6 on the day of release! S

Yes I paid £6 for The Circus in Asda, first week offer.

I depends? You mean the first week record or 7days record

Oasis hold both. TT have a slight chance to beat the first week record but they won't beat the full 7days record (although 7days record does not really exist  )

TT had huge preorders and they are hugely frontloaded (during the 1st week at least) even more than the Circus I believe. So the estimation of 850 according to Subo is too much imo and the estimation according to the Circus 750 is probably also quite bigger. Looks as if they will do (550-650)K though perhaps even more if sales are more consistent than we expect.

'Progress' could become the biggest selling album of the year if they continue to sell well like 'The Circus' did

Certain to be. Only question is how long it takes to get there. Not long I wouldn't have thought. Could even be after next week.
