Pass Out missed out on Top 10 :( One of my stand out tracks of the year and Tinie is one of my favourite artists

A 600k+ seller can't even make the EOY top ten :o How much did the #11 sell in 1997, 1998 and 1999 does anybody know?

 

Thinking about it, I'm sure Better Off Alone and maybe Bring It All Back sold over 600k in 1999 and weren't in the EOY top ten :unsure:

Tinie has been the biggest act in the UK this year IMO - so it's a shame he couldn't quite get a Top 10 in the EOY :(

Tinie missed the top 10 despite going platinum :(

Naturally but I do think that she has the music to back up the huge support right now. No matter how much promotion she'd had, if she'd come back with a Rehab or a We Ride, I doubt she'd be doing overly well, at least not for more than a very brief period (i.e. directly after an X Factor performance).

A cover of REM's 'Everybody Hurts' featuring a range of bestselling artists including Leona Lewis, Susan Boyle, Take That and Joe McElderry. hmv is pleased to be donating any profits from the sale of this single to the two charities involved - The Disaster Emergency Committee (DEC) and to The Sun's Helping Haiti Appeal.

 

The single will split all proceeds 50/50 between DEC (Disasters Emergency Committee) and The Sun newspaper's "Helping Haiti' appeal. Prime Minister Gordon Brown has pledged to waive VAT on the single. The Haitian earthquake, which occurred on 12th January 2010 measuring a catastrophic 7.0 on the richter scale, is already estimated to have caused the deaths of over 250,000 people. 250,000 are in need of urgent aid and more than 2 million people are estimated homeless and in need of long term support to help rebuild their lives.

 

Robbie Williams said : "I'm very honoured to be asked to contribute to the single. We can all do something to help the people of Haiti - and I urge everyone to do what they can."

 

Cheryl Cole said "It's heartbreaking to see what is happening in Haiti. Hopefully the money from Everybody Hurts will help the people of Haiti rebuild their lives."

 

JLS star Ortise Williams, who lost relatives in the quake said: "The tragedy is very close to my heart."We hope to raise as much money as possible. It's great to be working with such talented artists, all pulling together to make a difference through song."

 

Alexandra Burke said : "It's truly devastating what has happened in Haiti and if I can help in anyway then I will. This song will bring awareness to the suffering of the innocent people of Haiti and help them rebuild their lives and homes. I don't hate this song with a passion any more but I still think it's extremely average and very overrated. Katy Perry first singles seem to always be far inferior to their successors, I wonder if the trend will continue with album 3 (technically 4)...

I'd say that Riverside predates that by at least a year.
