:( And that was the week when Dario G "Sunshyme" missed number one, amazing song. It deserved at least a week at the top. Late 90s dance is

Sunchyme was denied #1 by one day of SATWYLT's sales? God damn Elton John, you could have left it one more day -_- Then you could have sold over 2 million in your first week AND Sunchyme would have been a #1, everyone's happy...

EDIT: Looked it up and George Michael was #2 that week, that's alright then. Sunchyme was denied by Elton on two of his other weeks though.

Sunchyme was #2 twice IIRC. (I could be wrong!!)

I thought it was George Michael at 2 that week?

Sunchyme is a wonderful song I agree! CITW also kept Oasis Stand By Me, Sash! Stay () at #2 :(

I don't know what week, I just remember Sunchyme being beaten by Elton John at some point. I don't know that Sash! song but 'Encore Une Fois' is great and 'Ecuador' is his best!

Most of Sash!'s #2s are amazing - Stay and Mysterious Times are best imo.

Yeah, I looked it up, it was #2 on two non-consecutive weeks but Elton was #1 on both of those weeks.

The difference between Elton on his second week (1.5 million) and however much Sunchyme sold that week must be by far the biggest gap between the top 2 ever.

How about the gap between Will Young's AIP/Evergreen and Shakira's Whenever, Wherever? That must have been pretty similar.....

Stay, Mysterious Times and Adelante are better than Ecuador. His best is With My Own Eyes though  Also love Move Mania  a classic at my mates house parties haha back when I was 13

I have a feeling Gaga will be #01 sadly :(

I don't actually dislike it - but it's my least favourite of Champion / Price Tag / Born This Way.

And Equador! Never a number 1 but so many good songs!

Well Will only sold about 1.1 million whereas Elton had over 1.5 million, I doubt Sunchyme sold 400k more than W,W on their respective weeks

Seriously though, Sunchyme and Whenever, Wherever are far more 'classic' status than the Elton and Will songs. :(

I don't think I've ever actually heard any of Sash!'s #2s. The only Sash! song I've definitely heard is that random #9 hit he had a couple of years ago, Raindrops (Encore Une Fois). Which I think was based off one of his #2s?

Who thinks this will be one of the longest Sunday Chart Threads ever, they all seem to involve GaGa?

My fave Sunday chart thread was when Poker Face got to #1 unexpectedly so you never know!

One of the biggest chart injustices ever as far as #1/#2 is concerned is when Underworld's Born Slippy was kept at #2 by Fugees - Killing Me Softly.

I appreciate the latter is probably still remembered better by the public but Born Slippy would have been such an AMAZING #1, almost on the level of Firestarter and Breathe, it's just not the sort of song you'd expect to be a UK #1. I wouldn't even be annoyed if it got to #3 or whatever but it just annoys me so much it's forever demoted to #2 status.

KMS had 4 more (non-consecutive) weeks at #1 after that, couldn't it have let Underworld have that 1 week? :(

Classic

A good song, but

Hips Don't Lie >>>>>>>>>>>>>> ... >>>>>>> ... >>>>>>>>>> Whenever Wherever

We've already had 3 pages of pre-chart talk, could be? How long were the other 'big threads'
