May 19, 201115 yr Between August 1981, & January 1989, the entire Top 100 counted for the Album Chart. Since then, 'only' the Top 75 counts - as regards Chart Feats. Anyhow, it is 'Rumours' 367th Top 75 Week, and 479th Chart Week, over all. 'Gold', (ABBA), & 'Bat Out Of Hell' - Meat Loaf - have the most Top 75 Weeks - 440 Weeks each. 'Rumours' is a terrific Album, but the one before it - 'Fleetwood Mac', was also full of great Songs - 'Rhiannon', 'Warm Ways', 'Say You Love Me' etc. Edited May 19, 201115 yr by zeus555
May 19, 201115 yr Oh my. Just noticed Caro Emerald at #11. Didn't expect her to be so high, considering no promo or singles success. Great.
May 19, 201115 yr Oh my. Just noticed Caro Emerald at #11. Didn't expect her to be so high, considering no promo or singles success. Great. A Night Like This is #92 :P So there is *some* singles success. Anyway, great to see both #1s changing today :D Hopefully SHM can get into the top 10 as they're now at 9 & 89 on iTunes :D Edited May 19, 201115 yr by Bray
May 19, 201115 yr Top 10 - Thrilled to see Pitbull at top, I've had high hopes that this'd climb all the way to the top spot since I first heard it 3/4 weeks ago - Gaga [TEOG] is likely to drop over the next few days then, as will [H] and [J], with the former at #9; it could miss out on top 10 all together if Swedish House Mafia pluck in enough sales. - Aloe Blacc still top 5! Top 40 - Swedish House Mafia at #13! - Blue still in the top 15 - big shock! - Jedward only down 5 places since yesterday, they could debut top 40 after all. - Take That likely to fall out of the top 40 all together.
May 19, 201115 yr Pitbull being no.1 is making me feel ill. New low for this country then..... Oh I wouldn't say it's any worse than LMFAO!

Being Zeus I knew your omnipotence would enable you to answer ;-p From virgin hit albums rumour(s) has it at no1 with 478 eligible chart weeks, while queens gh has 475, bat out of help 474 and gold 386. Sure golds jump to 440 is due to mamma MIA etc and don't remember BOH charting though queen GH could've added some? So does rumour still have the official (eligible chart weeks) record then? May 19, 201115 yr I can see Take That progress plummeting fairly soon as with the new deluxe version announced people will stop buying the original and just wait for the expanded version.
May 19, 201115 yr I'm guessing it's because of Glee Why oh why don't they cover some Kylie, or Katie Melua songs... :P
May 19, 201115 yr Why oh why don't they cover some Kylie, or Katie Melua songs... :P Because Kylie and Katie Melua aren't relevant artists in the USA.
May 19, 201115 yr Spicefunk - Yes the 479 Chart Weeks of 'Rumours', are still the 'Album With Most Chart Weeks' Chart Record, for the UK. 'Bat Out Of Hell' was last in the UK Charts on W/E March 1st 2003 - No.66. It was last in the Top 20 on W/E 29th January 1994 - No.14. Its 474 Chart Weeks are the 2nd most ever. The Queen 'Hits' Album is on 472 Weeks, & is 3rd. The Virgin 'Hit Albums' Book got it wrong, when it gave it 475 Weeks. The Meat Loaf Album was at No.19, in the same Chart that 'Rumours' was last in the Top 20, (No.16) - W/E 30th September 1978. TAKE THAT Some of their Fans are NOT happy that they are releasing an 'Expanded' version of 'Progress' - called 'Progressed':, LINK:, http://smurl.name/e38d Edited May 19, 201115 yr by zeus555
May 19, 201115 yr Pitbull being no.1 is making me feel ill. New low for this country then..... No, this really *wasn't* me posting under a pseudonym...
May 19, 201115 yr Because Kylie and Katie Melua aren't relevant artists in the USA. Chicken/Egg situation. Kylie has had some US success, don't forget.
May 19, 201115 yr Pitbull being no.1 is making me feel ill. New low for this country then..... Wait until Cher Lloyd's magum opus is released before you make a blanket statement like that..
May 19, 201115 yr Chicken/Egg situation. Kylie has had some US success, don't forget. How is it at all a chicken/egg situation? She has had some US success, yes, but not enough/not recently enough to warrant being on Glee's hitlist. Why do you want Kylie to be covered by Glee anyway? I'm currently praying they stay away from Mumford & Sons after their album recently got massive in the USA and spawned two big (albeit low peaking, similar to the UK actually) singles.

They covered Lykke Li's 'I Follow Rivers' recently though and that wasn't a hit at all in the US as far as I know. Needless to say, they completely murdered the song.
May 19, 201115 yr They covered Lykke Li's 'I Follow Rivers' recently though and that wasn't a hit at all in the US as far as I know. Needless to say, they completely murdered the song. I think the explanation for that was that they were covering underappreciated artists in the episode.
May 19, 201115 yr I think the explanation for that was that they were covering underappreciated artists in the episode. Oh right, that would make sense! Just forget I said anything in that case.
May 19, 201115 yr With Rumors shooting up both UK and US album charts, I can see more bands wanting the Glee Cast to do an episode dedicated to one of their albums
